System Freezing Randomly (PC completely freezes) while playing

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

When did this start happening? Do you recall anything changing/updating on your PC that coincides with this?

Do you notice a pattern to this? Does this only happen in certain locations or while doing certain actions?

There are a few troubleshooting options you can try if you have not done so already.

1) Do a clean install of the most up-to-date versions of your graphics card drivers.

2) Try a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. This will make sure that no background processes are interfering with the game. Make sure not to open any other programs or overlays while playing the game.

3) Do a reinstallation of the game. When you do, make sure to remove the locally-saved data folder (located My Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy XIV). Be sure to make a backup of this just in case it doesn't resolve the issue.

This started happening a few months ago, before Shadowbringers release, but as I was playing less oftently I didn't notice a pattern. I did a clean reinstallation of the Graphics Drivers and the game itself, but unfortunately the problem still happens.

I notice that it happens very frequently if I am streaming the game through OBS (Open Broadcast Software), but this does not happen with other games as I mentioned in my opening post. The problem also never happened when I was using the Direct X9 version that unfortunately is not available anymore.
