I stand corrected. However, you should have told everyone your experience was over 5 years old. Without that detail, anyone would interpret what you said like being recent, and with today's rules, this is just wrong.Have you been around since 2.0 started. Also tell that to my fc party was in that happened to. We all got penalty. This was back in the beginning of 2.0.
Vote abandon should be changed so that anyone who initiates it or votes for it automatically leaves if it fails. So like if two people want to vote abandon but everyone else doesn't, it just removes them from the instance and everyone else can keep going.
Or better yet, just remove it entirely. I'm so tired of doing like Orbonne Monastery and wiping on Thunder God once and having some whiny tryhard vote to abandon and then I have to requeue for my roulette or something because some baby decided I wasn't allowed to keep playing.
Even better idea, remove Vote Abandon and instead make something that's like Vote to Kick Me. Much like voting to kick someone else, instead you can initiate a vote to have yourself be removed, with no penalty. So all the whiners that can't stand one wipe in anything can go cry somewhere else and let the adults keep playing.

So i get to choose if you can leave without a penalty? The answer is no. I will never let you leave without a penalty. You would have to be reportably obnoxious for me to vote you out at your request, and in that case id report you so you got the other kind of penalty. Either dont que if you arent willing to play, or eat the penalty for leaving like everyone else. The button id like is "Kick with Penalty"(something like this would obviously be used by some for grief and harassment, so youd need like a day+ outright ban for abusing it). But i know that will never be.Even better idea, remove Vote Abandon and instead make something that's like Vote to Kick Me. You do realize I said vote, right. So someone could be like "vote to kick me" and people can just say no, forcing them to take the penalty by leaving or suck it up and play. No one is forcing you to let the person go. Chill out.So i get to choose if you can leave without a penalty? The answer is no. I will never let you leave without a penalty. No no, i got that it was a vote. I was just relaying the fact that there is no circumstance where i would vote yes for that. I have never voted yes for an abandon, and actually i usually vote no on kicks(with exceptions for afk/offline players). I just feel like if you qued for content you should either stay to see it through or eat the penalty for leaving. As long as you arent leaving often, the penalty isnt even that bad. I could spend 30 mins crafting, leveling my fishing, organizing my inventory, adjusting my retainer prices, or working on a new glamour(or if its almost the end of my night, just log off a little early). Hell, i could start doing one of those things and actually spend much longer then one DF lockout before finishing.
The one thing that ought to change about vote abandon is that if someone attempts it and it doesn't pass, they should no longer be able to attempt it again for the remainder of the instance. (Another person may still attempt it, but same rule applies for them too.)
Vote abandon spamming is just plain dumb, but vote abandon itself still has its places.
There is already a Vote Abandon cooldown for each player, I think it's 10 or 15mins until someone can try to initiate it again. Restricting it outright though could cause more harm than good, after all if you couldn't get an Abandon approved, someone might starting kicking X or Y player to create an opening in not having Full Party thus allowing whoever to leave for free afterwards without any penalty.
Whatever it is, it isn't enough. I still occasionally see people spam it as often as they're able to.There is already a Vote Abandon cooldown for each player, I think it's 10 or 15mins until someone can try to initiate it again.
Kicks require a majority vote just like abandons do. If a party is wanting to continue enough to the point an abandon doesn't pass, it's unlikely that they will just instead allow the kicking of some random hapless party member that didn't deserve it.Restricting it outright though could cause more harm than good, after all if you couldn't get an Abandon approved, someone might starting kicking X or Y player to create an opening in not having Full Party thus allowing whoever to leave for free afterwards without any penalty.
And like I said, just because one person's abandon gets denied does not mean that another player can't try it again after another couple of wipes or something.
I still really, really think the same person should not be able to attempt an abandon more than once per instance. There's really just no reason to allow them to do it more than once, and it's annoying and spammy when they do (if it failed the first time, it's almost always going to keep failing every subsequent time, so it really serves no purpose other than to annoy the party)
