    Reduction of time needed to complete a craft action

    Since I started play FFXIV I asked myself why to execute a craft action (Standard, Rapid, Bold) should take so much time. I'd find crafting more "fun" if the numbers of strokes would be reduced (3 is too much). What do you think about it?

    I totally agree. The time it takes to craft an item is waaaaaayyy to long. Coupled with the amount of SP to get to the next level is mind numbing and very discouraging. I love the animations and graphics, but the quickest you can craft something once you actually get to it (not counting the prep screens) is at least four times (standard synthesis, not counting buffs, ie. Tender Touch etc). Usually its much more. This needs to be reduced to about 3-4 MAX.

    The redundancy of screens you have to go through also needs to be reduced. Example: When you use an existing recipe you already have its need to be like the upgraded crafting leve screen. One screen to choose recipe and then load all the mats, select main/off hand tool and then your off crafting. you don't need a screen to chose the item once you have chosen the existing recipe.

    Additionally, HQ is totally random it seems, it needs to come more in line with the degree of crafting level you are over the standard for the item.

    Finally, WHY WHY, WHY are the base materials for certain items at a higher crafting level than the item they combine to make. Of all the tings wrong with the crafting system this is the most discouraging.

    Dude... yes this irks me more than anything with crafting. Since they've made the menus a bit more streamlined its helped with a lot of the downtime during crafting but I find recipes I want to make to only find one +of the ingredients is like 10+ levels above me. I hate it.

    Eh, this actually makes perfect sense. By requiring you to be a higher rank for the parts than the final product, they're helping you succeed in the final synthesis.

    It may be a little frustrating sometimes, but it's not nearly as frustrating as blowing up that same synth if it has rarer mats or is just generally a pain to make due to the number of synths required (hi2u haubys).

    This is because it takes WAAAY more skill to forge a Longsword blade than it takes to put a longsword together ......
    I think they are making the crafting system WAY too realistic. Have you noticed that just about every recipe in the game is a real life recipe? I have... It just has an unrealistic method to use realistic materials in these realistic recipes. Whoever was behind the Synthesis concepts in the old team sucked at fantasy lol.

    I dont think the number of actions needs to be reduced. I do like having abilitys from other crafting jobs and i use as many as needed to help me out. What does need to be adjusted is the time it takes for abilitys to take effect and then start crafting again. It doesnt make alot of sence to me. Standard,rapid,and Bold are almost instant. Why cant using buffs like tender touch, fullfilment, and makers muse be instant?

    Standard, Rapid and Bold are NOT almost instant - every single ability used causes your character to physically do something, and those graphics are what causes the time between abilities. Bolding takes more time than using an ability, even.

    Yes! Faster synth actions please. Between the 4 second animations, the unavoidable small lag, and the menu interfaces it takes at least a minute to complete a synth. While this is fair for guildleve synths that are yielding over 700SP each, this really is too slow to grind higher crafting ranks.

    It shouldn't take any less time to finish a single item than it does for a DoM/DoW to kill something of comparable SP. Granted, I don't play DoM/DoW, so I can't speak to how alike they are time-wise. But that seems like the standard to be used. Crafters aren't inherently more deserving of time than combatants are.
