How likely is it that Square Enix will make World Visit Data-Center Wide?

World Visit in itself was very unexpected. I don’t think I’ve seen an interview of Yoshida ever mentioning it would ever happen unless someone can link me to where he does say it.

So I wonder. Will it expand to other data centers? For example, Primal can now meet with Crystal, and Crystal can now meet with Aether. Vice verse.

Wouldn’t that defeat the purpose of buying Server transfers?

It's incredibly unlikely to ever happen.

That is extremely unlikely. The reason we have data center is to keep the load on the servers that link the communications between the worlds from being over taxed. If you were to link them all together like that, then the point of having data center becomes useless.

Every game has said "we will never allow X between servers / datacenters / clusters" and within a few years, oh look, how about that, its a thing.

Yeah, that’s what I mean. I think it’ll likely happen. Because Yoshida has been somewhat of a good Samaritan these past 2-3 years, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he wants this to happen.

I personally hope it doesn’t lol, but idk, it might happen.

Considering Yoshida recently said how incredibly difficult it would be just to make a cross region Party Finder. I sincerely doubt World Visit even in the same region will never happen within FFXIV's life cycle.

Since the issue is server load and latency, if they were to ever resolve that, we would probably just end up on a mega datacenter, so it doestn matter what world you were on, itd just be 'instances'

To be fair Yoshi always seems to reffer to FFXIV as the most fragile yet complex thing on the planet. Yet there's always something "incredibly difficult to implement" that ends up becoming a thing after some budgeting. If it were to happen it would most likely be a Cross-Data focused on each region, like some said. But before that ever happens I feel like we might get cross-server market board, free companies and cross-world linkshells become the new default. I remember Guild Wars started with the whole servers being separated yet you could guest visit other ones. Then eventually the server data got merged and the only true separation is regional. I don't recall if it was the same with WoW though.
