Art of War is the "u tried" of AoE animations.

Not even that... "Tried" implies effort, that they actually worked on the skills animation when implementing it. All the did was take a skill which has been in PvP since 2.1 (Scholars Aura Blast, specifically) and reused it for Art of War, it's not a new animation at all.

I'd love it if they'd add some Excogitation style flare to the animation, but perhaps slamming a page on the floor for an explosion of post-it-notes is a bit too... Ninja-ish... Still, book-mage with various war stratagems seems to be the theme they're going for with Scholar now, would be nice if more of its animations reflected that.

But you are right. After my vacation and a lot of reading on the forums, I wanted to the follow the "ABC - Always Be Casting" rule and just running around, causing purple airblasts as if this is a Disney musical. The name is dumb as well: "The Art of War" should be an ultimate, not causing Marylin Monroe' style airgusts in a funky colour...

Finally, a complaint thread I can agree with! (only partly kidding here)

I'm a scholar, I don't want to even be touching the floor, let alone punching it like some kind of monk. And the AOE shriek noise it makes is kind of jarring. Since a good SCH is going to spend at least half of a trash fight blasting this, something a bit more subtle and less.... annoying in terms of sound would be greatly appreciated. (Also, more variety. pls. give us back our bane. give us back our energy drain. give us back our shadow flare.......)
