Gridanian Lalafell?

I was wondering if Gridania is a common place for lalafell to live? I wanted to create a lalafell conjurer who may eventually become a scholar, but loves the forest and natural settings. Is it common or at least lore-friendly for a plainsfolk (I assume dunesfolk wouldn't be there) to come from the Black Shroud? Thanks!

I don't think it's common - most of Gridania's populace are Hyur or Elezen, with a small but important Padjali minority - but it's not unheard of, I believe; the Botanist guildmaster, Fufucha Fucha, is a Dunesfolk Lalafell, for example, though I'm not sure if she immigrated to Gridania or was born there. Most of the city states of Eorzea have minority populations of all the five original playable races, even if they're not the primary population in a given city (Roegadyn in Limsa, Lalafell in Ul'Dah, etc.).

according to the first lorebook the population of gridania is approximately: 40% midlander hyur, 30% wildwood elezen, 10% duskwight elezen, 10% keeper of the moon miqo'te, and 10% other
they're definitely not the most common race in gridania but with how travel is between the city-states it's not going to break the lore if a lalafell is from/lives in gridania

1.0 showed quite a few lalafell living in Gridania (there were even several serving as Wood Wailers and God's Quiver, and the pre Calamity Guildmasters for the CRP and BTN's Guilds were also lalafell (one still is). This was in-fact shared across all the citystates, where there was no real racial homogeny between the citystates and members of all races could be found in each of the cities, as a way of showing that Eorzea was very much a multicutural and racially diverse place.

Only with ARR have SE tried taking a leaf out of FFXI's book and made each race more connected to a certain citystate, but you can still see aspects of this 1.0 tradition still in ARR (such as the aforementioned BTN's Guildmistress. ).
