As a counter point to "if you don't like it, don't do it" you do have to conciser that if it was accidentally made the most powerful source of exp or some other resource then not doing it would put you at a disadvantage.
Sometimes you have to do parts of the game you dislike if you want the advantage they give you. The relic grind typically is an example of that.
Though all that has to be done is that would have to be taken into account.
Now, the other, other side.
Yes, it's a nice idea, but it's not going to happen. In order to do it, they would basically need to take every fate out of the entire game (other then the 5.0+ stuff) and rewrite them in the new format. That would be as much work as was ever done on fates, all at once. That's the downside of these "new" systems, they are just new code balanced on top of old, a horrible jenga tower mess...
In short, in order to update JUST 2.0 would take as long as 2.0 took. In order to remake the entire game to 5.0 standards, would take as long as the game has existed, though you could probably do it in a single crunch... of two years, instead of the next expansion.
