    [Spoilers] Eden Feedback Thread

Disclaimer: These are only my thoughts and opinions over the raid.

    Hi eorzeans,

just finished the eden raid series 1-4 and just wanted to spout out some thoughts and my opinion on it.

    1. Story

After our MSQ "soul trial" with the light essence, i was thinking okay this can't get worse then that right? Personally i would say there weren't any issues with the story. You had clearer goals this time and you kind of knew what was coming. Except Turn 1 and 2. I've been reading in the lore forums (maybe this should have been put there idk) that this raid series is there, to unlock the avatars creation potential tied to the ancients. Just sad to see it going by offscreen. And our 2nd fight seems to be
    Gaia
from the promo pictures about eden. So i really wonder how this is gonna go along. We'll see soon i guess (probably not this year... XD)

    2. Music

Nothing else to say there. Wow and what the heck is this and okay i am really getting hyped now! Especially before fighting third and fourth boss. I just love this part of music.

    3. Fights

I honestly expected it to be worse. Yeah i died. A lot. But thats simply because not knowing mechanics. If it was due to not being able to keep up with the constant battering of boss casts and dancing around the platforms i would have been more worried tbh. Nonetheless for progress content (non-savage) i'd say its more then enough difficulty.
I know some of you will eat me alive for this. But yeah. I am just a casual like many others here.. :3

    4. Conclusion

Thank you dev team for a, in my opinion, very solid start of the eden series. I hope it gets more epic in the next turns :3
Personally i can't wait for the air part as it is my favorite element.
Also the fact that we got, again, plenty multiple choice answers really brightened my mood on the series.

Once again. Thank you. Please, if time and health allows: Keep. Up. This. Awesome. Work!

Disclaimer: These are only my thoughts and opinions over the raid.

On fights, I felt the first fight was a little too unforgiving. Not only does Pure Light oneshot anybody hit, but other mechanics make it basically unsafe for that player to resurrect for some time afterwards, coupled with a DPS check that can wipe the entire raid. For savage that's all fine and dandy, but it might be a bit much for normal.

At the same time, I felt the second fight was TOO forgiving. Going in as one of the healers, I made a plethora of mistakes (largely due to not knowing mechanics) that should have probably led to a wipe...and we oneshot it. That could probably be tuned up a tad.

The third and fourth fights...absolutely loved them. Also, that second floor-drop on Leviathan was EVIL.

You can actually take one hit of Pure Light. I did it as a healer when I messed up a mechanic and you have ample time to run behind the boss. I am curious how the Savage version will play though. Kinda hoping it isn't another Alexander (I think it was Midas? It's been way too long) 'we overtuned this way too much' sort of deal.

It could've been a gear issue with the group I got matched with, but everyone I saw get hit by Pure Light got oneshot. Maybe you meant the other mechanics at the same time? Those you could definitely take a vuln stack and still survive (I did myself, in fact).

They really need to stop adding 1 shot mechanics to raids with uncoordinated groups, it just doesn't work, 1 shot mechanics were fun in 2010 but not anymore, I like to actually play the game.

Overall I enjoyed it, the FFVIII music was amazing.

Felt a bit weird that Eden Prime was the first boss, and also so easy (with that crazy attack, haha).

Titan was super fun, though, so far I'm enjoying it a lot more than Omega.

I don't really care for raiding in this game, but I thought all of the fights were fine. The only things I don't care for are untelegraphed lethal mechanics, such as when the floor falls away without any indication which section of the floor it will be in E3. It's a fixed rotation so you'll know the second time, but it's basically a automatic wipe on the first pull for a group that didn't watch the strat ahead of time, which is probably a bit much for normal, as it's easy enough there's little reason to watch a video aside from such gimmicks.

It does have an idication, when the two heads are on either side you want to be in the middle, when both are in the middle you want to be on the sides. It isn't the normal orange indicator but it IS there and most people in the two groups I've been in understood from the get-go when it was their first time in.

Ah, OK then. I saw the orange indicator on the first one and expected to see it again on the second one.

I have mixed feelings about the raids just being new versions of primals we've fought before. I kind of like the "remix" designs and mechanics, but I also feel a little like I'd have rather seen all new bosses.
