    Constant 90001 error disconnect

I've been having issues since the update this week with being regularly disconnected from the server (10+ times in a day). As far as I can tell, it only happens in Shadow Bringer areas and instances. I did not update anything else since then. Any help is appreciated.

Edit: Make that 90001 and 90002. It turns out that it is not limited to ShB areas. I get kicked anywhere doing anything. Makes it almost impossible to progress in MSQ.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

When did this start happening? Do you recall anything changing/updating on your PC that coincides with this?

Do you notice any pattern to the disconnects? Is it only when doing certain action or in certain places?

What have you tried so far in order to alleviate the issue?

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

It started on 7/16 after the maintenance. I did not update or change anything else. I almost always disconnect in Dungeons and Duties with the 90002 error, but I also disconnect less frequently anywhere else with the 90001 error message. It is not limited to any locations or times. I have attempted to run in compatibility mode to make sure it was not an issue with Windows and made sure that my drivers are up to date.

Thank you for the reply XenosBelizaire.

Unfortunately, it can be a bit difficult to discern where this issues stems from. However, the following troubleshooting can help strengthen your home network:

    1) If you are using a wireless connection, try using a wired connection with an Ethernet cable.

    2) Make sure your anti-virus/firewall has the appropriate exceptions for Final Fantasy XIV.

    3) Try a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. This will make sure that no background processes are interfering with the game.

    4) Check the following Port Ranges on your router/modem to ensure that they have been opened:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040
Your ISP can open these ports for you.

    5) The game will use the Internet Explorer web browser to connect to the internet. Open Internet Explorer, then open the "Tools" setting, go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!
