Yeah yeah, stuff takes time to do I'm sure we all know that.

I've seen plenty of concrete good ideas that would take only a few hours of work to do. I know coders from much smaller companies that make much bigger adjustments to online games daily. I see a lot of "coders work is so hard we have to give them endless time to do anything here".

What about game-wide XP changes in XI that we're made quickly to address the pt dynamic changes brought by abyssea areas?

Surely that has been a lot more challenging task.
Btw in game development the word "broken" is often used about just about anything that doesn't work. Graphics can be broken due to a technical flaw, balance can be broken due to gameplay coders or designers and sound can be broken by just having the wrong mood in a wrong part of the game. Sure you can probably hear stuff but if it's the wrong elements then it's not working correctly.

Anyway I'm not trying to start a war with you. I just think people are a bit over sensitive and on the edge at all times when it comes to the quality of XIV.

And that's the perfect evidence that you don't have a clear idea of what we're talking about

Changes in a complex environment like a MMORPG need not only to be devised and implemented, but also tested extensively internally, and more often than not will go back to the drawing board multiple times.
The FFXIV team is being actually very fast in moving this game forward compared to the rest of the market, for pretty damn sure they have been way faster than what we saw in the first six months of FFXI, since you seem to bring up the FFXI card quite often.

I know coders from much smaller companies that make much bigger adjustments to online games daily.
And of course those games are as complex as a MMORPG?
And you know how long those changes (of which you know only the implementation day) have been in development and testing before they were implemented?

And of course you know how long those xp changes have been in development and testing before they were implemented right? Oh wait. No you don't.

Actually very few game developers would use the definition of "broken". "broken" is normally an hyperbolic spiteful term used by bloggers and gamers to make things look worse than they are.
Broken means something that doesn't work. There isn't even one system in the game, right now, that doesn't work. Everything is useable. Many solutions are less than ideal and warrant improvement and polish, but "broken" and "less than ideal" are two completely different concepts.
And "broken" is definitely no insider term.

On that we can agree. oversensitive. Bolded part is the key. Some people need to lay off, or move on.
It's a game, there are plenty in the market.

This...took a lot longer than you think.

No we don't -- What we use is the term "debugging" because nothing is "broken", it "just needs debugging" -- as Ab says, it's a gamer term.
