Well if you are gonna be lore accurate you need to have gross monster hands and feet or are you just cherry picking the things you like and dismissing others opinions?

This boils down to technical reasons. Same as height. They're not gonna remodel every shoe and glove to fit that kind of look. And the height as some stated is basically scaling down the model. But there are things that don't scale down like chairs and mounts. So it will also require rework.

The hands and feet look like "monster hands" because that model is ancient. The claws are present on the viera shoe model and there's a glove somewhere in the game that adds it to the hands as you can see at least some of the viera in Fanow have claws. So it clearly wasn't forgotten. People are bristling at this recommendation because it comes off as a request for yet another smol anime waifu race.

I used hyperbole and a little inference, but it's usually the same things. People see someone asking for something and panic because there's something that may compete with what they want. It's really not up to you to manage the devs' priorities. Promote the things you want appropriately if it bothers you.

More variation in height is not grounds for a new race nor even a new clan. People love to throw around lore but don't really know what it is. It's not an absolute statement on the limits of biology. Lore is history and generalizations about race and culture. The descriptions of Miqo'te clans make several statements that are just not reflected in the character creation. Things such as ear size and tail size are the same for both. There will always be limits but there is nothing wrong with people asking for a little expansion on those.

It's usually just a couple different issues: "If this happens I might not get what I want" or "I don't want to see something I don't like." It's fine to have an opinion but don't act like people are trying to take something from you when they are not.

I would say you used more than "a little inference" to the point where you're completely making up motives that aren't even there. I'm not worried that this would "take something from me". I'm only saying what I am because there is literally no reason for them to offer an option for short Viera. Being tall is on one of their racial traits, just like being small is a Lalafell trait or how being large and buff is a Roe trait. So let's just have 6' Lalafell and scrawny, average sized Roes because, why not? It's not like they need to have defining racial traits or anything right?

Would they log in to see the characters that they were perfectly happy with before were now a different height than they wanted? Would they then have to pay to correct their characters height?

I doubt SE would give everybody a free fantasia as some people might just stockpile them away for different changes another time, and that would have cost them future fantasia sales.

And they don't have a system for just adjusting height on it's own.

Miqote male was a LORE excuse they used. And in the end, put in male miqote to the game.

Male Viera is now being used as LORE excuses. As are jobs such as BLM getting raise and RDM/SMN being the summon britches.

If you want anyone to stop using lore excuses, write a letter to squeenix so they can shred it up in the shredder at their office and laugh.

Did I mention they're using BLU as a LORE excuse as to why they also can't be placed in duty finder with normal parties? Yeah, that's a thing too during fanfest tokyo.

Since you seem to not understand and cherry pick at the simplest things for "monster hands and feet", the quest lines from the Vii village in Rak'tai woods. You'll see some of the NPC's already have foot wear and hand wear in the game that showcases the monster or animal hands/feet. So it's technically in the game, just limited to some specific armor and details

I agree going 0 on the scale is still tall. for all those saying just play another race we want to have the pretty hairstyles and bun ears ok we just don't wanna be huge; I am smol and would like my character to be such. If this wasn't a pain in the ass to do I think it would make a nice addition.

Would she, herself, be opposed to shorter Viera being an option? Of course not. Likewise for any other such variant to other races. The thing is though, the FFXIV dev team clearly believes in limiting what the player can do with customizations like this, as to keep races within a certain aesthetic they like to maintain. Not saying she completely agrees or disagrees with this, or that the current compromise is ideal, but that is why it is as it is currently.

Also remove Auri horns, Miqo tails, Hroth Ears (oh wait...) and give Elezen human ears.

Part of the fun of picking a race is to enjoy their unique traits, however minor. Viera are tall, and that's it.
You wouldn't ask for tall hobbits in Lord of the Rings right?
