The best example in XIV I can think of was Drg's lv 50 job quest that rewarded Dragonfire Dive when it was done in roughly ilvl 50-55 gear and without the echo buff. (The echo buff I hate with a passion, thankfully its removable) Sch and Smn didn't have anything like it in ARR. Drg to 70 has had nothing else like it. Sch to 80 has had nothing else like it. While I haven't got a ton of jobs leveled yet, its kinda clear from some of the late game play you see not many jobs have job specific quests that checked if you really knew your job. The shadowbringer healer role quest sure didn't really check it either.

It doesn't have to all be super hard content, maybe more akin to a series of trials that get progressively harder. Like for one tank set, have to kill X, Y, Z mobs in a set amount of time but the key to completing the Y and Z trials is doing the same actions that a larger pull would need to succeed multiple times in a row, all leading up to some more extreme challenges for some of the final and more marginal perks.

Disagree with it all you want, that doesn't change reality.

And that's where the problem is. You think it's objective. I think it's subjective. Whose reality are we talking about?

There is already an objective definition of the word End-Game. You are free to have your own warped view of it if you like.

Gear that has unique effects such as tier gear would definitely spice things up. What if soul eater had a chance to proc an edge of shadow? Cool stuff like that is what makes the game interactive to me.
I would love to see this aswell. Yoshi P has said he really likes Mythic Dungeons in WoW, but hasn't really made in any inclinations towards adding something similar to the game unfortunately.

It was stated in an interview that he would like too, but they would need at least double of the current battle design team in order too make it happen.

Then, double it? We're not for lack of reason to want more staff in that area even without adding additional, scaling, or progressive difficulty levels to more areas of battle content.

Especially if they are siphoning from FFXIV generated revenue in order to help fund other projects. You would think they would want to trend towards expanding and maintaining the cash cow before draining it dry for every other little project. Again this goes back to that production cycle stuff I mentioned, and why there tend to be high/low employment cycles. You bring on the needed people to get some larger project like that done, try and find ways to keep the really talented ones on hand, and the rest either get cycled between games/franchises or are freelancers. Its not to be mean to the employees, but just the natural ebb and flow to the demand for content production work. There are some exceptions like shows such as the Simpsons that did weekly episodes, but they also have the equivalent of 3-4 different teams working on different episodes to meet that production output.

It's objective. That is the accepted definition of the word. I disagree with the meaning of many words, but that doesn't change what the words mean. Neither you, nor I, are the gatekeepers of the English language.

So when people say "there's a lack of endgame content" they are using the common meaning of the word, not the meaning you think it ought to be.
