How do we get a real question submitted to the development team about this? id love to just get a straight up answer about end game. Would save people time and frustration. If they could straight up say this is the format and its not changing then we can end the discussion and go play other games as previously instructed. I dont know why questions like this dont get addressed in live letters but questions about butt sliders and gear gender lock seem to be super important.

We need the Community Manager team to pop up and be a bridge between the community and the devs. In FFXIV case you have to make sure the feedback don't get lost in translation when they send the info.

Over these past couple of years, I have noticed the odd post or comment about some of the Duties being nerfed, as people we up in arms about it being too difficult. Again, I honestly thought this was people over reacting, but it seems they were actually telling the truth?

One reason why I avoided doing a lot of the bigger duties ( 8 man upwards) is that I am always being embarrassed and/or ashamed of how poorly I am playing. Even though I now use a PC, I still use my Dual Shock 4, as I have a lot of spinal nerve damage and it's very painful for me to sit at my desk to play. Also, I take quite a large amounts of opiates, which is like having a fog in my head most of the time. The reason I bring this up, is I understand it is my own shortcomings that prevented me from beating some of the content and I would never have the gaul to demand they nerf stuff, just so it easy enough for me to do. So am I correct in thinking that your comment is about players wanting things spoon fed to them, rather than actually trying to beat the fight by improving?

Like I mentioned in my post you quoted, I always thought the claims people made about this sort of stuff happening, was typical forum over-reaction, but it seems I may have brushed it off too easily myself?

I am not very good with remembering names in general, so I don't understand what you are referring to when you mention "Coil had small bits of this...." Please could you go into a bit more depth on this for me?

    Regards,

    FElix
what i meant by "small bits" was the Coil has what you asked for

    you said

Binding Coil Turn 1 has it, Turn 3 is completely that. Second Coil Turn 1, 2 and 3 all have it. Alexander had a little bit too but Omega and Eden has completely gotten rid of any kind of trash before the boss. Omega has segments but they were all done only in Normal mode as part of the story and cut-out of the Duty Finder/Party Finder portion of the fights. i was not talking about the difficulty or players not wanting to improve. players want to get to what matters which is the boss fights.

also you can unsync Coil and do it by yourself or with a friend. not all of it is soloable even at 80 with some one-shot mechanics but you can still experience it with not too much difficulty.

You might try actually setting foot on any endgame content of the game, instead of just posturing in general and shilling out Wow. It makes you look rather silly that you're complaining about content you've never experienced.

Unless this is just an attempt to stir the pot.

Then nobody playing WoW knows how WoW works- since the WoW forums have been complaining about gear RNG since Vanilla, and in particular about it being even more RNG, and the BiS from WQs/non-elite content TFs since TF was added. It's basically the most common complaint, and it's one shared by casuals and elites alike in the game.

From your comments, I'd have to question if you've ever played WoW as you seem to have no clue how the loot system works.

I cleared Heroic Jaina for about three months after a one month learning period this year- my ilvl going into this patch was 402 when the gear that drops from her raid is 400. That's about 12 weeks of 9 boss kills, plus a few more when progressing. Let's say about 120 boss kills- zero TFs from the raid. My only pieces that popped me above 400 were from WQ TFs, meaning my best gear was not from the heroic raid content, but from helping turtles crawl to the ocean.

Yoshida actually does go into that on multiple occassions. The more recent one was during the North American Media Tour, where NA streamers got the chance to interview Yoshida. To give you a few examples:

    MizzTeq's Interview:

A: It's something that could possibly be considered but that means it would take away efforts on creating new content. Or the patch cycles may get delayed. It's actually been brought up a few times with regards to WoW and end content like that, and if we were allowed to take as much time as WoW does, we might be able to accomplish something very similar but we would like to keep our major patch update schedule as we currently have it. It would be difficult to juggle both keeping that consistent schedule and also including more difficult content. But, we are definitely impressed by the system that WoW does employ in their dungeons where they are ever-increasing levels and the systems that they have for the gear sets and what not. it's really well-made. Maybe if we had double the number of people in the battle system team, the battle content team, our QA team, oh and, one more Yoshida...

A: When we did Baldesion Arsenal and having that content where a lot of people are going into it at the same time, and receiving the feedback that a lot of people did enjoy the content, i think that opened up the possibility for us to consider, not just 24 man raids but content where a lot of people can join in on the raid.

A: So you may or may not be aware, but when we plan for content we don't plan it with each coming patch, it's not as immediate as "Ok, what do we do with our next patch?". It's more about having a roadmap for two years worth of content. So we plan very far in advance and that's only because it would help determine how we pace outselves. We're pumping out content in a fairly systematic plan and we have that at set schedule, so we have to think in advance and pace ourself.

There's more in the interviews, if you're interested.

If they can make a instance based open world, instant queue, No ilvl sync, large scale PVP like in GW2, where players can go in and play for 10 minutes or 2 hours and get some decent rewards, it would probably be the best endgame this game can hope for lol.

Instead of making content designed just for a select few that nobody will ever play after a few patches. Even if FFXIV's combat is not as fluid as GW2, it can still work xD.

FFXI's Campaign system worked and it was fun. Being able to go into the past and defend different outposts on the map against the beastmen with Heroic NPC units was fun while getting EXP and seals was fun. Maybe incorporate something like that into FFXIV.

When did I complain about the content we have? Not once. I've been talking about what we don't have. Big difference. And if you want to stand up and saying 4 or 5 challenging bosses every six months is enough, well, your standards are fairly low, I think.

Forums are typically filled with whiners, complainers, and hyperbolic edgelords who overreact to everything. So yes, complaints about the loot system on WoW forums should not be taken seriously.

So you were iLevel 402, and you go into a raid that drops iLevel 400, and you're surprised that you don't get upgrades? You read that before you posted, right? Also, no one cares about heroic loot. Heroic is easily puggable. You should be doing Mythic, not Heroic. If you would have been killing Mythic bosses, you'd be swimming in upgrades.

I think he means if you haven't completed all the endgame we have here then why are you asking for more? I dunno it's what I got out of it. And to be fair if that is the case is he wrong to ask? I get wanting more stuff, I get people want more bosses. Hell I don't think it'll be a bad thing honestly. I just wish the people complaining about lack of bosses actually you know... did the content we have instead of repeating what other people say cause of whatever reason. I strongly believe this complaint doesn't get listened too is cause the buck of people complaining about endgame ... don't do endgame. So why should SE listen to a bunch of people who aren't even playign the current content? I wouldn't. Would you? Would you listen to a bunch of people who don't play street fighter telling you HOW to play street fighter?

I don't know about some of the other people here, but I cleared every Omega Savage tier at least 8 times a piece, was server first for Twintania on Zalera, beat second coil as well before I migrated to another MMO for a bit. I have done Ultimate quite a bit before with a former static of mine. Didn't win obviously. I beat both the Innocence and Titania extreme fights within a day. Got both mounts within a week. I beat 24 man raids within a day. So, I'm speaking from experience here when I say the amount of endgame content is lacking.

I'm glad Ultimate is a challenge and all, but to be frank, I accepted I wasn't good enough on my NIN to beat it(not enough dps), and most Ultimate groups don't wanna take a SAM(my true job).

    P.S. I work a full time 9-5 job.
