This!!!!!!!!! Lol Im seriously sitting here like am i losing it or am i really not explaining correctly.Content that can be done throughout the game is not end game content. Just apply the concept anecdotally - saying you're indulging in "end game content" at level 20 on day 2, when you're job or character is far away from the end game, is a silly idea. You can't change the definition of a term so that it better matches your world view.
Death Is Only The Beginning....
Here we go again....sighit's that you are just arguing for more hamster wheel. I need to make my character more powerful so i do stuff, but the rewards are always to make the character even more powerful. So you need new things to show how powerful you are, which also need to have rewards that make you more powerful, ad infinitum...
hamster wheel.
Death Is Only The Beginning....
If you actually took the time to read the thread, you might have picked up most of them don't want the hamster wheel. They seem to want something with some challenge and longevity to it. There are a few other aspects that each would also like, but the key elements are challenge and longevity. Something more in tune to a player willing to dedicate a bit more time to the game. Any gear that comes from the content is just an added perk.
This as well...man this thread is nearing legendary. Has really shined the light in some ways
Death Is Only The Beginning....
Just ignore people like him, this is either his first mmo or he's never made it to actual end game content in other mmos. At this point you guys have explained end game content enough even a monkey could understand it.
OT: I completely forgot about relics, that's just how big of a joke they are. They could be so much more or actually useful it's weird all the work that's put into it, just for it to ultimately be glamour. I also had high hopes for Eureka and I liked the grinding there (don't kill me) since I mained monk and that was a more fast paced class. I didn't like the leveling system though, it's almost as if they can't make engaging content without nerfing you and or taking your levels away.
Eh at this point I don't expect anything, I mainly come back to xiv during the start of xpacs and usually leave after the first "raid" tier. =/
This basically explained my situation as well. I only fought in this thread so hard because this game has so much potential to add some fresh content and eureka was initially huge sign of hope...yet here we stand. I agree with you about relic...i dont believe for one sec that giving relic some unique properties other than glamour would break the game especially since not everyone would obtain it.Just ignore people like him, this is either his first mmo or he's never made it to actual end game content in other mmos. I was kind of expecting Innocence EX to be the preferred one if you had done both. I personally have not done that one yet, just seen the guide for it. But the guide instantly made me think that Innocence was intended to be at the EX level and not the normal level, and that it got watered down to the normal level for the story, while doing Titania EX it felt like everything else had just been slapped on top of the normal mode with shorter indicators, a couple of extra moves tossed in, and a memory aspect to it. Nothing hard, just tedious. A big part of why I do think some content should be designed around savage/ultimate initial releases and then re tuned for the lower tiers. It allows for much cleaner mechanics like the Innocence Stars on the harder versions, instead of the more clunky layer everything on top of each other like Titania.I found the normal modes quite easy. Both extreme modes have their challenges. In Titania, mechanics were pretty easy/self explanatory. There is wayyyyy too much healer downtime imo. People mostly had an issue passing the dps check. Innocence, however, was a headache for me. Now that I've practiced it more, I have it down. It's just that darn mechanic that targets two random people with sword aoes, then add the rotating floor aoe on top of it... oof. It makes me feel "nooby" since I had such a hard time. I would get myself killed every time, because I didn't go away far enough to dodge safely. I enjoyed how Innocence at least seemed to have more random aspects to it, and I really thought the star mech was interesting. Innocence has been far more enjoyable for me than Titania mechanic wise. That's just how I view them personally.
You guys are also starting to make me feel like I may have really missed out by not really being able to do Eureka. Had a nice gap between ARR(was up to Titan Hard and Crystal tower hadn't dropped yet) and Stormblood, then a pause in the Stormblood patching stuff after getting somewhat caught up, then getting caught back up again for Shadowbringers.
I am the same situation. I unsub for over half the time. I've seen all the untapped potential for this game to be THE undisputed top dog MMO on the market, but this potential is not capitalized on regarding challenging battle content(heard they plan to improve the new player experience, this is the other hurdle that stops this MMO from being top dog but that is another thread). This thread, combined with finally being fed up of another recipe for the exact same endgame formula, caused me to finally fight on the forum for some content. I was going to make my own thread, but then saw this one. This basically explained my situation as well. Does anyone else have any ideas for what can improve endgame?
One thing I have seen tossed out a few times here and there is the equivalent of FFXI's Merit points, and Class mastery systems. We do have the job crystal equipment slot, and I think not being able to have any effects on that slot is a missed opportunity. Though I don't think upgrading the Job Crystal should just be something grind able, and instead should really be something akin to FFXI's lv 70 Maat Fights or their equivalents. I also am unsure as to what kind of upgrade to the crystal would be appropriate either, just that it should not be easy and more of a mark that you know how to play your chosen class. For those not familiar with FFXI, think kinda along the XIV's blue mages trials they get at 50, but we are talking like one or two mistakes means you wipe kinda challenges.I am the same situation. Though that is just short term, and nothing really long term. I really would love to see some MMO actually involve crafters and gathers more in its ongoing endgame.
