Ive now accepted that glamour is end game
Right? If i can play 2 hours a day, that's something for me and here we have people that play 16 hours.
But the job and real life give me enough tasks and trials to overcome on a daily basis .
There is no limit that can not be passed
2 types of end-game need adding:
Harder versions of the 24-man Alliance Raids:
I feel the current 24-man alliance raids are more of a casual affair you usually join with randomers and still complete it in fair amount of time. I feel alot of players are looking for that "guild feeling" end-game of doing some challenging content with alot of players where communication with everyone is key to success. Having to build up a group/static/FC/LS where it solely focuses on endgame where everyone can do it together would add alot to the current end-game formula.
They could just make savage versions of the current alliance raids. This would keep end-game raiders sticking around alot longer and you won't see any complaints about lack of endgame content then, while not completely locking out players who prefer easier content as they would still have their current alliance raid.
Harder 4-man content:
This is something else I feel is lacking in FF14 there should be 4-man content which requires more of a challenge, some players don't have statics nor like doing content with 8 players maybe they just want to play with just a few friends and not feel forced into bigger groups but still want to try some endgame out.
Palace of the Dead was something which I thought was going to be exactly that but it never turned out what I thought it was going to be, originally I thought it was going to be similar to FFXI's deep dungeon which was "Nyzul Isle" which has the same concept of clearing floors and fighting a boss every 10th but the difference is the quality in FFXI it had far more rooms per floor, different objectives to complete per floor examples like solving puzzles with lamps, killing specific mobs per floor, killing all mobs or killing the mini-boss etc each floor also had chances of having a rare monster appear on which were harder but optional to fight to give more loot, you had to gauge whether you had enough time left to fight them or pass on it if you felt you were going to run out of time. Nyzul Isle also felt more like a labyrinth with alot more RnG making it more replayable and alot more fun. They also then added a harder version called "Neo Nyzul Isle" where you had to complete all 100 floors in the same time as normal which was super hard to achieve.
I believe Palace of the Dead could use a more harder version more aimed for end-game rather than just having the more casual version for levelling. Why not have both? This shouldn't be too hard to implement for the devs.
Current 8-man endgame content:
I feel like 8-man endgame content is in a good spot and doesn't really need changing but it is way too much focused on with having extreme fights and savage fights players looking for alliance raids with the same amount challenge or with low-man there isn't much to do that is a challenging outside of extreme/savage.
These ideas I have suggested here could easily fit into FF14, harder versions of existing content would require less work for the developers as they don't need to come up with completely new ideas and keeping the easier versions for the more casual players also keeps them happy while providing some more variety for end-game raiders who want more of a challenge.

You see now this will depend on what you mean by this to if I’d agree.
Are you talking 1 big raid which takes 2-3 hours to push through.
Or each of the 4 tiers released per raid drop lasting 2-3 hours![]()
Cause I like the idea of one bigger sized raid all put together with trash and each boss to clear through, the concept of 4 raids lasting that long, would make raiding heavier in this game then wow. And given we aren’t even a esport I don’t think that’s a good thing to drive for
High ilevel requirements, I disagree with, 9/10 ilevel has very little to do with it, I’ve seen 430 ilevel players out dps 440 ilevel players by large margins. It’s very rarely down to a ilevel which dictates a level of ability from a player. And as The game gives you the ability to set your own ilevel requirements I don’t feel the game needs to enforce one.
Imho if FFXIV has enough content is subjective.
Are we talking through the eyes of someone who has 30-50 hours a week to invest, or the eyes of someone with 15-25 hours a week to invest. Cause Yoshi has stated his eyes are mainly on those with 15-25 hours a week to invest so there will always be a level of dissapointment from players of the higher brackets of free time.
Games really can’t cater to everyone, and a developer has to kinda choose which side he’s going to run with. And now that’s made to 180 would lie to the community. And that’s what’s currently cracking WoWs back.
Saying “lemme do what I want in the game I love” is fine, but remember there’s millions of people saying that same statement about what they want and some of those conflict with what you want.
Before someone says “they can offer both” they can’t, there’s a reason why WoWs M+ isn’t that successful in the more casual environments, and it’s because mythic+ has turned into a gear funnel pre-raid for preparation, it was once ment to be added side content for players who can’t raid or a lower time consumption requirement end game. What it’s turned into is a addon invested craze to farm loot ASAP, with people trusting a number provided by a addon over the players ilevel or anything else to dictate who can join.
the video posted talk about raid content tho, not engame content
did you even watch the video before posting?
Excellent post. Harder 24-man raids is something I've been wanting for years and it could really push the raiding scene to new heights.
That being said, it's also noticeably more time and ressource consuming than harder 4-player-content, so they should probably start with that. Yoshi has mentioned quite often that the latter is something they actually want to do, so I'm hoping ShB will be the Expansion to introduce it.
You know, I had a snarky reply to all of the people wanting nu-WoW systems put into FF, but I'll actually answer the question honestly.
At this point, I honestly have more than enough content to do and I don't even plan on doing savage (would like to, but that's a whole rant instead of a quick response).
Why?
I have other games I wanna play. Fire Emblem comes out soon, I have octopath to start at some point when I need a break from FF. Monster Hunter's probably gonna get a few releases here in the next 6 months. FF8 remaster/remake, Rune Factory 4 and 5, the list can go on and on.
Now between the normal 8 man, 24 man, tomestone capping, and relic weapon for the 2 classes I plan on playing. That's a lot of stuff I'm gonna have to do while still trying to play another game. If I could find 5-6 other people who wanted to raid with me and my only friend who plays consistently, I doubt I'd be able to find a break. Not to mention if I had a static that EX trials are now on the table. And as much as I really want to, I'm fine not doing it once the expansion ball starts to roll. Not to mention, I'm technically NEET status right now. I could only imagine trying to fit in FFXIV while having a job.
Though I guess for people with good statics, story skippers, and twitch streamers that can do things instantly whenever they please you sure will run out of end-game content fast. Most people aren't like that, I'm not and I play for 18+ hours a day.

sounds like soundproof plan to fuck up the raiding sceneExcellent post. Harder 24-man raids is something I've been wanting for years and it could really push the raiding scene to new heights.
