This game is about the journey, not the destination. I prefer it this way myself.
After getting my WHM to 80 and finishing the MSQ, I got tome gear then started working on my BRD. Did a bunch of fates to unlock things that way, played around with the trust system, and ran dungeons a few times each as to get gear as I leveled my BRD to 80.
I still have a magical dps and a tank I need to level. Not counting all the other things like my crafters. I have more to do than I have time to do it and I wouldn't have it another way.
It's been said many, many times before, but FFXIV isn't designed to keep people on the hook constantly. Yoshi-P himself has said that he doesn't want people to be in a position where they feel that they need to log on every day to do something - he'd rather people play everything at their own pace and then go do something else (I think there's a quote where he suggests going to play other games or spending time with family).
5.0 has only just released, and there'll be a steady stream of new content coming out over the next 2 years.
your plight makes me think of the snake that's eating its own tail. Asking for more endgame content while the endgame content changes every 2-3 months.
4 savage fights isnt enough? it takes most statics 8-10 weeks to even clear all 4 fights. extreme primals aren't enough? thats why the mount drop rate is so low. If SE were to release TOO much endgame content at once, people would get burnt out on everything. I've seen it a lot in my friend circles were burnout from savage, ultimate, and eureka (getting their eureka weapon BiS) was too much.
I think it's fine where it is with its level of endgame content.
I haven't managed to get all jobs to cap yet. So there is still content for me to do.
That's besides getting good a clearing raid or challenging yourself to clear content on a job that isn't your main.
looking at your lodestone.

There are a lot of collectibles you never got from endgame content when it was current which is part of the game.

Commendations.
If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
If I play healer I only give it out to tank.
Only if they should be getting a commendation.
There are always exceptions to the rules!
Limiting your definition of "endgame" to ONLY items that require being 80 to do results in a tiny pool of activities.
FFXIV isn't dedicated to 80 only content and never has been about rushing to cap to start the "real game".
Expansions need to be evaluated holistically. Do they provide enough to do for a reasonable amount of time until more is released?
I'd say this one did.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
Someone who knows WoW well seriously needs to put you in your place.Exactly! Take WoW for example.. I never really found farming azerite or world quests to be "thrilling". But i was kept busy and entertained.
Mythics provided a new way to keep old content fresh and challenging, whilst providing rewards that were relevant for the efforts put in.
This all end game content that outside outside of raiding.
You could still progress your character, everyday with your friends or alone, little by little. And that keeps a lot of players subscribed.
Listen Buddy, WoW is dying and BFA is a dead expansion.
It's just plan PATHETIC that you would come here and cheer Azerite, which the devs have already thrown out it was so hated, and World quests?!??!
Are you a masachist?
Dear FF players, you know the beast dailies you do for 30 days or so - how would you like to do them every day, for the entire expansions?
No, the quests don't change, it's the same boring quests all expansion, but you have to do them because they are necessary rather than just cosmetic rewards.
Dude, people hate world quests with a passion, and you come here acting like they are awesome content in WoW? What is wrong with your perception of reality?
Then, you bring up mythics. The popularity of mythics is in BFA is way lower than in Legion, where the meta is so strong that roughly 50% of all jobs are never invited and have to find other mean. It doesn't make things endless, as you say. 95% of people who them just do them to +10, and stop, because that's where the gear stops. Then you say the rewards are relevant for the efforts put in??? LOL - You have GOT TO BE JOKING I am laughing so hard.
You know all those tomes you got, so quickly? How about we change it so it's only a 50% chance of dropping, and then only 33% chance is the token for you chosen job, and then additional 10% chance the gear is actually optimal for your job? Not to mention that every drop in the game is based on three factors of RNG (item level, socket, tertiary stat), which is applied even to world quests, so you can have two people do the same thing, get different rewards, or have someone do much less effort, and obtain a stronger reward than someone doing something harder! At least in this game the reward matches the time put in - which is why you have so many tomes.
Finally, how convenient for you to leave out islands expeditions, warfronts, specifically made for Eng-game - which everyone hates and calls the worst content ever!
Regarding Scottzone, you can't criticize FF14 normal raids, which are the equivalent of LFR, and say FF raising is in trouble.
If someone did LFR in WoW, rather than end-game raid, and stated they were concerned about raiding in WoW, everyone in WoW would laugh at that person too. Oh wow - the casual raid content wasn't enough for the hard core raider, what a surprise!
I really have to disagree with your perception of "End Game" content. Any content that is not leveling a main job is "end game". Very few people are going to spend hundreds of hours in the Gold Saucer below max level when they still have MSQ to go through. If all you're into this game for is raiding, then yes there is not a lot to do.
A lot of your suggestions are for dated content that pre exists since the expansion.
It's not relevant to the question or title - most of us have finished dated content.
We're talking about level 80 end game content, new to shadowbringers.
I can see why you're, since you made no genuine attempt to read the title or question.
Well I was going to post some suggestions on what you could do in game, but after reading this thread I see that would be pointless. You don't seem interested in having a discussion you just seem to want people to agree with you and everyone that disagrees gets talked down to. So how about so IRL advise? Grow up and stop being an asshat
If you're focusing just on 80 content, and say you've completed everything that you can possibly do before you get to 80, then there isn't much for most people. Guess just depends on the time you have in the game. Not saying what there is isn't great, I am enjoying trying to learn these EX fights, and I do not do Savage Content. But if I'm taking myself out of it, and looking at someone who plays a decent amount or if the EX-trials come easy to, then there isn't a ton. What to do after you're done? Most unsub, but it has been said that they expect that and they are okay with it because people just come right on back.
It is designed like that. Certain aspects inside a MMO that would make for more bosses and wider range of content are not used in this game, so adding 5 or 6 bosses total like the person in the you-tube channel suggested, I don't think would ultimately satisfy them.
I know for me there's so much more that I haven't accomplished but it's just stuff I've skipped. So what can keep you busy at 80 is a lot if you didn't do the content in the past. If you're looking at what can keep someone busy at just 80, then not that much. I don't think it will change and what would be needed for it to change wouldn't be the FFXIV that we know and love today.
