Additional Hotbar Keybinds - Please, we need it.

FFXIV is known for it's ability/button bloat. Unfortunately this isn't something that typically gets better with each expansion. When abilities get pruned they're usually replaced with something new so we're never usually "down" abilities.

What that being said, please, please for the love of all that's holy, give us the ability to bind/re-bind the following to our hotbars (obviously for use with a mouse):

• Left Click: Shift+Left Click, Alt+Left Click, etc.
• Right Click: Shift+Right Click, Alt+Right Click, etc.
• Scroll Up: Shift+Wheel Up, Alt+Wheel Up, etc.
• Scroll Down: Shift+Wheel Down, Alt+Wheel Down, etc.

I'd love the ability to rebind my camera zoom to Shift+Scroll Up or Down and have regular Scroll Up/Down for abilities.

This alone would open up the ability for a minimum of an additional 8 keybinds; especially for those working a more traditional type of mouse vs. a gaming mouse with side number pad. I've personally already got 22 - 24 binds (which pushes the limit of what I'm comfortable working with using the keyboard alone) and STILL need more as I'm left clicking some abilities - Eep!

The keybind interface accepts the forward, back, and middleclick buttons from a non-gaming mouse; so everyone should have access to middleclick chords at least, and a lot of people will have access to forward and back chords. Assuming the average person is comfortable with up to two modifiers, that's 4 or 12 chords that can be bound without a gaming mouse (MC, MF, MB, sMC, aMF, saMC, sMF, aMF, saMF, sMB, aMB, saMB).


As far as binding left and right click chords, I don't really think it's needed for actions but there are some non-action things that would be nice for those. For example, alt-rightclick to use or shift-rightclick to sell. However, in most cases you can double-rightclick an item to execute the first option in the item's context menu, so these are in the category of "would be nice, but unnecessary".

Thanks for the screenshot. I know that we can rebind the Mouse Wheel in that menu (i.e. bind Zoom Camera In/Out to Scroll Up/Down + Shift) but if we do the unbound keys don't become available to use with abilities which is part of my gripe.

I have a Shift + Alt modifiers for my Mouse 4 (bottom thumb button) and but can't comfortably reach the top one. I could potentially get 2 more binds clicking the scrollwheel button but that feels a bit clunky to me.

I mean, I've already got a metric tonne of binds (hello ability bloat, you are a thing), but feel like if SE would open up those options to be used with abilities it would just make life soooo much easier to find comfortable binds for users or different hand sizes and mouse preferences. If WOW can figure it out I'm sure SE can.... I hope...
