Previously Missed Event Gear

I don't think that's the case though, like on xmass you couldn't get the santa outfit anymore. You could only get the reindeer one.

Since I have all the event gear, I really don't care either way.

However I wouldn't feel like it detracts from the value of my previously obtained event items if someone else can obtain them the next year or in all future years.

I'm throwing in for not recycling them. Like others have said, it proves that a few of us stuck through the bad times to get where we are. It's really a shame that you had PC problems, and I understand that it's annoying to be locked out because of that, but if they did allow anyone to just buy the event items, what would be the point of the event. The events would become boring and meaningless, just like they were after the second reappearance of Tanaka's bells.

Also think of the precedent it would set. If they let us just get old stuff, then why shouldn't they also give out goobbhue mounts to people who join in 2.0. They'd have no good reason not to.

Anyway, rant off. I don't want old gear being given out again. Yes I'm a special snowflake, yes I have a complex.
