Desynthesis grayed out

I was wondering if anyone could answer my question about desynthesis, I've done some googling however am still not able to find an answer.
I've recently got the desynthesis skill, however I've noticed that sometimes the "Desynthesis" button is grayed out. For example, I've tried to desynthesis a pair of "Maple Clogs", but when i right-click on the gear, the desynth button is grayed out.

You need to reach Lv30 in the relevant crafting skill before you can start to desynthesise items.

Also note that you can either choose to level three classes to maximum desynthesis level, or spread it evenly across all classes.

Edit 21/1/21: As this post reappears from the depths, it is no longer the case that you can only fully level three classes for desynthesis. All classes can be levelled now, but the initial requirement of reaching Lv30 remains.

Not all items can be desynthed, especially many quest items.

Those items don't even show the menu option for desynthesis. Their issue is the skill level issue.

This is an old post, but in any case you can also desynthesise from the main inventory menu, not the dedicated desynthesis menu. I'm not sure if the option shows for things that can't be desythesised at all, but it certainly does and is greyed out of you could do it but haven't reached level 30 in that class yet.
