    Need some advice on healers

I've been playing for a little over a few months now, I've gotten dancer to 76, and leveled NIN through the MSQ until I could make the Dancer. Now, I want to try healing and unlocked all of the healers, but everyone tells me that since I'm new to healing its recommended to play white mage. Is Astrologian that confusing to learn? I'm only apprehensive cause I don't want to mess up in the game and have people hate me over it, so not sure how true it is that some are way harder.

Hope this made sense, I've hardly had sleep lol

It's more that WHM is just the most straightforward of the healers.

AST is essentially WHM with more multitasking. Once you've learned WHM it is very easy to transition to the healing side of AST, but then you have to juggle cards and such as well.

If you're especially enamored with AST for one reason or another, don't let that stop you from playing it, though. You start at level 30 so it still starts out simple enough.

And personally i wouldnt worry too much about people hating you either should you happen to mess up a little. The duty finder pulls from your entire data center, so the odds of seeing the same players is fairly low(plus you can ask friends for help if you need to). Just tell people that youre new, learn from your mistakes, and be a better healer at level 40 then you were at 30(etc) and you should be fine.

It's worth pointing out that currently there are some balancing issues between healers and AST, until they get some needed fixes, will be harder to play in dungeons. Mostly level 70+. This may be a non-issue for you as it might potentially be fixed by the time you get there. But just letting you know. Especially if you're new to healing.

Honestly whichever healer theme you like more? Being a more simple staff weopen healer with the most heals or having a fairy and a book who give defense and decent heals? Or sorting out cards and giving buffs to people with shiny galaxy skills.

At the moment the easiest healer to learn is still white mage the scholar being medium difficulty and astro is hardest due to low heals and dmg while learning all the cards. But if you like playing tactical knowing your every move with the cards and choosing your skills wisely then go astro I mean I always loved how ast skills look before I even tried it, so go for the look you prefer to see yourself in

WHM is so simple , but i should say you can play whatever healer roles on you like.

Don't worry about it, just play any healer you like the most! White Mage is usually recommended for new healers because it's the most straightforward (and currently powerful) one and it's easy to grasp both its healing and DPS abilities. At the moment, Astro is a bit undertuned (both in healing and DPS), but it will be hopefully fixed in the patch 5.05. Ironically, its current issues come out in the easier content: the EXP and tome dungeons with big pulls. I have been levelling Astro now (it's almost 79) and I've been mostly ok though. But if you find yourself struggling if the party is making huge pulls, just keep in mind that it may not be you, but the job, and don't be afraid to ask for smaller pulls if they make sense for the group's survivability. Despite the current issues, which, again, are expected to be fixed, Astro is capable of clearing any current content in the game, so if you enjoy playing it, there's no reason not to pick it.
