    After playing 80 Scholar for a bit, I enjoy the changes.

    Content feels a bit more intense due to the damage being done. I like the fact they gutted Scholar a bit because to be honest a lot of that stuff was unnecessary clutter for controller users.

    I'm already doing enough to keep people alive as is along with the DPS moves available here combined with the mechanics of this game. I personally don't really need tons more just to have more buttons to press as I'm already pressing enough.

    Scholar feels good at 80 to me and outside of Bane I don't miss anything.

    damage feels lower than ever like sure it looks more because of our hp pools but its been so easy to just heal without a single gcd

    Things just hit harder, I have to heal more than I would usually ever since these changes. It's actually made Scholar more difficult to play because before 5.0, I had much more downtime to do DPS. Now I have to like manage things more carefully or people will die.

    No no, you don´t understand, ppl like tikiwiki are just too good for this game.

    I feel, like the health pools got bigger, incoming dmg is the same if compared to the HP, but the outgoing heals didn´t go up.
    During SB an excog would put the tank to full health (healing like 50 % of his hp), now it only gets him up to around 75% (so only 25% of his hp).

    I still miss Energy Drain for lower end content and fates, but I'm pretty content with SCH right now that Art of War is more sustainable. I'd still like a proper DPS rotation which at this juncture seems very unlikely given the developer's design philosophy for healers but as far as healing goes I'm pretty satisfied.

    I mean, I'm glad to see that you and others are enjoying it, but in my personal experience, healing hasn't changed much. Day 1, sure, I got some tanks made out of paper, so it wasnt well bad because I had to heal more. Yesterday though, I did expert, and I was sitting at 2 aetherflow every single pull, the only one I spent was on arbitrary excogs.

    Make SCH great again! Seriously though, we just want our class to be fun and engaging again, not OP, is that too much to ask for?

    Damage in dungeons feels like it has increased. Problem is - dungeons aren’t the only content in the game, and the 8-man content we’ve received so far has had far lower damage output. When it comes to optimising for mount farming, the 2-button dps rotation has me bored to tears, that’s not even mentioning solo activities or unsyncing content.

    History would tell us (the last 2 expansions) that damage is always high on the first lvl 80 dungeons but then when we start getting gear it's back to DPSing.

    This is nothing new.

    Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
    Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
    Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

    The damage is just slightly higher due to lack of Protect.

    What actually changed and what indirectly makes it seem like damage is higher is the healing nerf that happened as a result of healing not scaling as much as Health pools have.
