PuGíng 8 man "Normal"Raids; is this realistically do'able?

Greetings and apologies for the out-of-left-field question, considering how long this game has been in-service.

I personally have not partaken in Raid content since Coil of Bahamut all the way back in A Realm Reborn content era, and even that was quite limited, but it was always within the confines of the Free Company i was part of at the time and a Raiding Linkshell.

And i haven't touched 8-man Raid content since; but with Eden's release today and content still being fresh and new- everyone being on the same page- and me being in a much smaller, easy-going FC these days; i thought about the possibility of where i stood in my ability to partake in Eden "Normal"

Is Normal 8-man Raid content something that is acceptable to do within PuG'ing? I do not have any experiences of my own to draw from except from my former years of playing previous MMORPG Raid-content; paint me a word picture if possible.

Is PuG'ing 8-man Raid's chaotic? is it something to be desired?

    Thank you in advance.

The Bahamut series is more akin to Savage raiding that we now have, Normal mode is generally easier than EX trials. So you should be fine pugging even long after it isn't new.

I do all the normal raid content with random players. I think most people do.

Considering there's an actual roulette for normal-tier raids, and even the newest ones are included in it, you're perfectly fine queuing up via the duty finder. It's the Savage-tier versions that you want to find a group via Party Finder or a static to run.

The worse you'll have to deal with is teaching players how to do the mechanics if it's their first time, but it's totally do-able. Just treat Normal Raids with PuGs like training sessions, use the easier difficulty to practice basics for that raid that aren't changed in the higher difficulties.

I'd say that's kinda the intended way of doing it. I cleared all Eden raids in a row last night with randoms, every run had at least 6 first-timers in it who came in blind, me included. Eden 1 we had one wipe, 2 and 3 were no problem at all, got close wiping in Eden 4 bc finding a timewindow for accepting a rezz without spawning right into a mechanic that wrecks you again instantly can be tricky, but we managed to kill it in the end.
It wasn't too chaotic, pretty much everyone was good at doing known mechanics and picking the new ones up on the fly.
