remove all the skills that slow down our gcd. have riddle of fire reduced in damage but speed slow down removed.Does SE even read these posts? Its been years since people have been posting about MNK needs and changes and it still seems like Nothing we said made it on the list cept for gl4.
I am not expecting a miraculous rework but there are a couple little things I would like.
Firstly TK has to go, the entire premise of TK is flawed.
TK needs to be changed to a disengage ogcd that basically freezes GL and resets timer untill you start attacking again. Can add the SSS timer penalty to avoid spamming. This will give us breathing room for mechanics and fix dungeon issues between pulls.
SSS needs to just be a replacement of internal release. With how much of our dps focuses on crit rng, its stupid that SE took away any control we had over burst phases. Make it be 100% chakra on crit for a few seconds. This is be awesome in dungeons and during burst phases. Give it a long enough cooldown for balance
Riddle of fire needs to be changed, reduce the dmg increase but but an increased crit rate and get rid of the slow down. This way our burst phase with brotherhood and riddle will be filled with FB spamming fun since we lost all other ogcds
Give us back an ogcd lol.
Swapping stances is dumb, there is no need for that extra button press just to get gl4. get rid of it.
Anatman its good change to give one instant stack of gl then regen over time.
Also give more incentive for positionals beyond a damgage increase. Monk depends so much on it. How about every proper positional reduces the cooldown on true north?
increase the speed of gl4 to 1.5 or have it get faster each rotation--monks we wanna go fast

I don't believe any job will ever be allowed to have a 1.5 GCD for reasons the development team have explained before but at the very least 1.8 is where I feel MNK would preform 'best' at in order to ensure smooth GL management.
Anatman really just needs to tick and not be based on server ticks.
TK is completely useless and I agree with the changes proposed for it.
IMO SSS is solid as it is if it is meant to be used when moving away from the boss (eg. thorns of Titania)
We just need 1 more oGCD.. Just one and I'll be happy x.x..

Losing GL is just too punishing, especially if PB is on CD and you don't have time to wait for anatman..
I agree, pending other changes. I would be fine with PB remaining a 2 minute CD if Anatman gave an immediate tick of GL so if you died or lost GL in a non-extended downtime phase you could form shift as much as you could to get Demo off, Anatman to get an immediate tick of GL and either remain in anatman for another 2-3 seconds depending on server ticks or go through another rotation. Anatman having an instant tick would pretty much make it to where losing GL outside of downtime can be remedied just by doing your opener essentially.
Additionally, if they changed RoF to be a 60 second CD, 10-15% damage buff with no slow down and change Brotherhood to a 120 second CD with a 50% chakra proc chance instead of 30% it would allow MNK to have some serious and very consistent burst.
I would prefer RoF and Brotherhood be on the same CD and 90s isn't too bad. I think a good compromise could be 25% damage increase and zero speed reduction.
The reason the chakra proc was nerfed was because of our lvl 74 trait, deep meditation II with brotherhood gives me sometimes 3, even 4 forbiddens during a burst phase already. What takes all the wind out of sails is when I'm paired with a caster in 4m content, brotherhood basically does nothing then.
This is a major issue, and for me, in a burst phase FB should be ready to be woven in constantly with its 1sec cooldown, to replace the ogcds we lost. 3 or 4 FBs based on group comp and luck is stupid and we should be given back some control over this.I would prefer RoF and Brotherhood be on the same CD and 90s isn't too bad. If Square removes the slowdown, I doubt they'd keep it as it is. I feel like 25% on a 90 second is too powerful, and there's no way they'd keep it at 30% without a slowdown. Which is why I'd rather see us get RoF on a 60 second and Brotherhood be on a 120 CD to make our 2 minute burst that much stronger. It'd also make it to where RoF aligns with every buff in the game and Brotherhood aligns with the big 2 min CDs like Devilment (DNC crit buff), Dragon Sight, tank buff windows (except IR on WAR), DNC's dances would get stronger as a result of BH CD change, etc. I feel like this expansion has really put emphasis on the 2 minute windows and MNK doesn't fit into those windows at all right now and without IR they can't justify us not fitting into them. Right now MNK only aligns on the 3 minute window but that's only for Battle Lit and Battle Voice, and the 6 minute with every other job in the game. I can agree with your concept but lowering the damage too much of RoF for the removal of speed debuffs could make it irrelevant, we would absolutely need a second oGCD so we either get IR back or Howling Fist.
Or maybe I was just thinking Deep Meditation could be triggered each time you use an opo-opo form attack similar to the way GL triggers for coeurl form and then Brotherhood could cause ALL weaponskills to trigger Chakra's. Then Deep Meditation II could activate a new buff which protects our GL stacks for 10s so TK doesn't consume them. This affect could trigger as Deep Med does currently, with 50-70% chance of happening per critical hit.

I think 15% is the perfect number. As for Chakra procs, I feel like they could just keep it as is but add a "Scoring a Critical Direct Hit has a 100% chance of unlocking a chakra" But to be honest I feel like the Chakra system should be reworked anyway. I think it's weird that we should technically have 14 chakras to play with, but honestly, I'd be fine with 7 and give us a couple of oGCDs that use less than 5 to proc. In essense, turn Chakra into Beast gauge and for the generation of it, it could be opo-opo attacks, so you generate 1 chakra every rotation, and keep the crit for extra procs? Idk, but I feel like something similar to beast gauge would make the most sense.
