    Question about latency

    I've been getting awful latency since Shadowbringers launch. Combat will freeze up for a sec or 2 and then everything from those 2 secs will happen super fast. Or people run in place not moving for a sec then suddenly appear a few yalms forward. Note that I play on an EU server (Lich) and I live 20 mins outside of Frankfurt (the city where the EU server is located).

    Yesterday I tried downloading a program (ExitLag) since they give a 3 day free trial, and suddenly all my lag was gone since this program connects me directly to the server.

    My question is what kind of weird routing is going on that I lag so bad that the game is unplayable without some extra program running?

    Your route to the server is designated by your ISP. If you are having issues without using a VPN or some other rerouting program, then you are experiencing some trouble before you get to the server.

    In this case, I'd recommend contacting your ISP and making a report with them.
