FFXI required you to be a WHM to teleport... and you could not change jobs once you did. That inability to change jobs in the field does not exist here, so it makes things a lot easier: Change to WHM, teleport, change to job you really want.

I'm hoping we are not suggesting that the mechanics of this world should be the same as every other game out there... just re-skinned with an FF theme pack? One of the 'big things' about Final Fantasy (a theme so to speak) was always the recognition of a giant world that had to be traversed. If it now is simply ... taxi everywhere... it looses that aspect of being Final Fantasy... (not suggesting it is a good or bad aspect, just, it is an aspect)

This game took what is a nice feature about most games and can be freely done through easily regenerated methods (MP/Gil) that is under the control of the user (rest MP or earn Gil) and made it completely shit and ruined it by locking on a stupid timeframe to it with a low cap and expensive tele rates.

They tried to fix what was not broken and made it worse.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the way Anima/Teleport works now. I play a fair bit, do a fair bit of content, and even 'rush' a bit when patch came out. Sitting pretty at over 80 anima, thank you kindly.

If someone is running out of anima, someone needs to re-consider how they use it and find an alternative.

(Side note: How many people teleported to Cutter's instead of chocobing there?)
