Its time to start adding voiceovers to major content.

24-man, 8-man raids specifically. Eden so far has been fun to go through but the lack of voiceovers, especially when we know SE is fully capable of doing it through a large chunk of the main story, sort of kills the mood. This content desperately needs voice lines.

I agree. The Eden raid without voice acting was bad enough.
And at the same time, Im worried about Nier Raid. Without voices... be it androids or robots, I just doubt they can create the same feelings/emotions like the original game did. We had enough pantomime already!

In all honesty, I agree. Eden especially I feel could have done even better than it already did had voice acting been included - more so given it ties into the MSQ the way it does.

At the very least, though, we can probably expect voice acting on the bosses for the YorHa raids. Ivalice set a higher standard, so I hope they continue to make improvements to the experience.

if the Return to Ivalice(RtI) 24 man is any inclination, Nier 24 man will have some voice acting on the bosses.

I agree 100% the 8 man raids need to have voice acting again(Final Coil had plenty and was hype) so they clearly can do it from a programming standpoint, so its probably a budget issue at this point.

Part of the reason there is not voice for all these content has to do with space. Having all these extra files for voices can take up a lot of room. Also, there is cost. You have to pay for so many actors and actresses to voice in several languages.

It all adds up. Not even WoW has everything voiced. Actually, besides their most recent expansion, there was hardly any voices in the game outside of the spells and combat emotes.

I know someone that can do many different voices that will work for a much more reasonable rate than most of these "actors"...

First, consider cost. Japanese voice actors are in an entirely different league than English in terms of status and pay. You also would have to have the other studios for different languages plus their directors. And there's also VA availability. I would also take into account the source material. We know, for many crossovers, there was an English/Japanese version, but what about French and German? Who gets to decide what French Fran sounds like? Since I don't think FFXII was dubbed in anything but ENG/JP.

Not even SWTOR has full voice acting. The older parts of it has nearly full voice acting, but
    1) SWTOR was not an f2p mmoo at launch
    2) One of its claims to fame was that it was one of (if not the) most expensive MMOs ever to be created - and a lot of that cost came from all the voice acting

Later expansions to SWTOR has cut down on the voice acting - due to the costs.

Reminds me of Tsukuyomi(?). As great as the story telling was, there was too much text to read, it disappears too fast, is too small etc etc. Voice overs would totally alleviate that issue.
