This.I think the trust system is a great idea for leveling dps jobs. Healers and tanks can get fast queues most of the time, but dps queues can be massive at times, up to 20 minutes for example. Even if a trust run takes 30+ minutes to complete, you'll still be coming out ahead as a dps, since the queue is instant. The only thing I don't like is how long it takes to level the characters.
Dont need it for my Healers but waiting 30-60min as DPS to enter a DF Run is boring.
Wouldn't it still be faster EXP to just do FATEs while you're waiting for the dungeon queue?I think the trust system is a great idea for leveling dps jobs. I haven't personally even tried the Trust system yet, but I've found the EXP speed in this expansion to be pretty insane. In addition to completing the main scenario, I've done my daily roulettes, challenge logs, hunt logs, a few random dungeon runs and FATEs, plus completed the ShB area side quests (which aren't very good EXP, I just wanted my map clean) and done the level 60 beastman quests while my GNB was still below 70 (not as much for the EXP but because my reputation wasn't and still isn't capped), and I have PLD, GNB, SCH/SMN, and WHM at 80 and AST at 75 (everything apart from GNB started from 70). Haven't felt any need to do any dungeon or FATE grind at any point.
Trusts don't AoE or attack while dodging Boss Mechanics. Doesn't matter what you say, this has little to do with a DPS player not being "good" at their rotation since AoEing is barely a rotation. For Tanks and Healers its worse since you'd be doing much less damage.
I have run the first dungeon with Trusts a few times and it just gets tedious. Its slower than waiting for the Queue while doing FATEs or, if still available, sidequests while leveling a DPS.
Level 80: SAM | SCH | PLD | DNC
Leveling: AST | WAR | MCH
I like trust for tanking, no pressure- just fun.
Trust tanks and healers are soo much better then real life players, on the otherhand, I find that the DPS from the trusts are a bit too low, it doesnt help that they are not doing AoE damage when there are more then 3 monsters. With Trust tanks, I can pull 2-3 groups and the tank will be fine, often self-healing while keeping agro, with a player, the HP goes down fast when they get 2 groups at 3 groups, it tends to be a wipe.
Never done a trust. Mostly do FATEs or finish up side quests inbetween actual dungeon queues.
WHM | RDM | DNC
If trust dps knew what aoe was I may never run these dungeons with people again. Alas, I find their single targeting frustrating and int he end end up prefering pugs even if sometimes they're not so great.
I enjoy the TRUST System.
I enjoy the Squadrons Dungeons
I have no issues using the DF for Roulettes or Raids. I'm a RDM & if I want to speed run through a dungeon, which a lot veterans do, then DF is the way to go.
But now that I'm leveling up my alt jobs, i can use the TRUST at my own pace, no need to rush: (1). learn mechanics of the dungeons (2). learn job rotations (3). GET LOOT!! All to myself. Also when you have those dungeon bosses with those multiple AOEs, like the last boss in Mt. Gulg, I just follow the Trusts to those same spots.
I have seen streamers do big pulls using Trust in dungeons, Whatever works.
All in all, I'm glad SE gave us this option for leveling, cause at the end of the day...its another option that can used, as well as deep dungeons, FATES, etc.
I heavily enjoy trusts and i hope they use them for all story dungeons going forward
great for learning mechanics, great for leveling alt jobs, and finally being able to play with the friends i've been with since ARR
I like the fact that I can just take my time and enjoy the lore/banter of the place while seeing the sights. It's great for that. Nice for practicing tanking, too. Nice addition.
