    [dev1303] Expedtionary Mission Suggestions

Other members of the community as well as myself have voiced a desire to see more items obtainable via dungeons and raids to be traded in for seals at each of the Grand Company lodges via the Expeditionary Missions.

    This thread will serve as a list of suggestions gathered by posters throughout the forum;

    1. Primal Moogle/Ifrit Weapons

    2. Totems and Nuts (1/10th the seal value as a weapon?)

    3. Used and outdated Grand Company gear (would be nice to get a 75% or 50% refund for used GC once it's replaced by higher ranking uniforms: private -> sergeant)

    4. Plundered Gear from Shpoeshae

    5. Materia Supply/Provision style

How about turn in materia for seals.

I get a lot of materia I don't want, and isn't worth selling. Usually just goes to NPC vendor.

Eh... I don't know if Materia for seals would be a judicious step on the behalf of SE. Afterall Seals are supposed to require effort and be relatively difficult to obtain in mass quantities. Considering the over abundance in Materia and that even Grade IV materia have now become cheap, I don't think this would be a smart Idea unless the seals rewarded were a fraction of the price. Essentially this would result in a transfer of ones gil into seals which isn't the aim of Expeditionary Missions considering that all the accepted drops are Unique and Untradeable. Even my suggestion of plundered gear might be pushing it too far considering they can be purchased via wards.

You can buy supply/provision mission items off the wards, what's the difference ? Make it certain materia each week and put a cap on it then.

Good point, works for me. At least it'll create a baseline demand for that no flooded market.

At this point i have gotten more seals from just farming toto-rak in the past week than i ever got running those caravan escorts if my memory is correct. Mostly because it seems easier to get people to go to toto-rak then it was to get a caravan going. Maybe a stackable set of items, given from caravans, that can be traded in once you have a full stack? Something based on the ammount of the packages left...that wouldn't be too bad of an idea no?

You just haven't figured out how to get 320 Seals from Caravan Escorts yet.

I would get about 200 max...with no loss of cargo...if 320 is the max ammount cool, i just never got it. I'm just saying perhaps instead of the seals from the run just a item that you can stack from multiple runs...that you can turn in. Your getting the seals either way so why not just make it, an item that can be turned in after having a certian number of them? I don't see an issue with that.

Because SE wants to give the game a more live feel by having you drop off the armor you just got at your local Grand Company lodge in exchange for seals. Otherwise players, if not bots, would just farm stacks of these U/U items and amass seals.

This seems like the reason for only making U/U gear dropped by NMs and coffers part of expeditionary missions. You are limited in a way by the fact that gear doesnt stack. What you are looking for is a stackable item that drops from an NM/coffer that you can turn in for seals. That exists in the form of Supply and Provisioning missions. But because these are stackable and can be turned in by the 1000s means the GC is offering few seals per item.

The way the system i sbuilt now is basically, stackable (supply and provisions) items get few seals per item, non stackable items (expeditionary) net you lots of seals but you can only get one of each, thus only a few per dungeon. All things considered this is fair. The crafters, gatherers, and battle classes all have their fair share of ways to earn GC seals.

I would mainly just like to see outdated and outleveled GC gear refundable for a fraction of their original cost if not by expeditionary missions then by another new quest.

I had suggested stronghold gear for this a few months ago before they announced they were adding it to 1.21.
