After the MSQ which, in my opinion, is one of the best pieces of MMO gameplay I have ever had the privilege to play, the role/class quests are so bloody underwhelming.
So SE got rid of the intermittent class quests (which I enjoyed but I know many didnt) and replaced them with role quest for tank, healer, phys dps and magical dps. My complaints about them are manifold.
Firstly, they really exist as side quests and don't teach you or help to teach you how to play your particular class (also having left out the additional classes you can't use in these quests). They tell a story that is linked to overarching main storyline. While that story is nice filler for lore purposes it doesn't help the classes in any meaningful way. I always looked forward to doing the class quests that were personal to each and every class. As I have said, many ppl didn't like them or enjoy them, so make them optional.
Secondly, in some of the quests your role is changed into a differing class with dumbed down skills, maybe 3 or 4 with a heal thrown in for good measure. I'm used to that in the MSQ which uses this method to advance to story from a particular character's point of view, but in this sense it just feels weak.
Also, in one for the role quests I have done the reward was food for an entirely different class - spell food for a phys dps - SE's QA dept is failing us here.
Finally, the lvl 80 class quests are simply boring with no heart or feeling . In many ways they feel like an afterthought. Slapped together in a hurry before the expansion released.
The difference between the NSQ and these quests couldn't be more stark in their quality.
