This started happening 2 days ago, and the game has been basically unplayable since. I'll dc at least 5 times in a dungeon, but never outside of one. I play on PC with a wireless connection.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.
When did this start happening? Do you recall anything changing/updating on your PC or home network that coincides with this?
Have you attempted to use a wired connection? Does this make any difference with the disconnections?
What have you already attempted in order to alleviate the issue?
We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!
Hi Einmimiria,
I'd like to also share that I've been experiencing the same issue quite frequently during peak hours recently (Eastern time, Primal DC); however, full disconnects only started occurring today. Before that, it was only severe, repeated lag during duties and not other areas of the world.
No changes were made to my internal network between 'good' and 'bad' events, and I only use a wired connection for this PC. As an additional test, I have also tried removing all other connections from my local network to ensure that there was no unexpected interference from other devices.
Seeing as the issue only appears to occur in duties, and with the other local tests conducted, I believe it is a safe bet on server-side issue, or some issue with transition from open-world to duty finder instances. Any further support you could provide (outside of local troubleshooting, which I have exhausted the advice from many threads in the past) would be greatly appreciated.
Best Regards
Can i just ask sense it seems you're quite knowledgeable. I have been having an issue where when i go into a dungeon i have these moments where my game seems to pause ( my animations still play etc. ) but then everything catches up ? I have been doing almost every test i can possible to try and see why this is happening but nothing. I've tried packet loss tests and speed tests etc. but nothing is showing up as an extreme error or high ping etc.Hi Einmimiria,

Is this due to Squares server side or is it me and my ISP ?
I downloaded a vpn and that seemed to fix it, i think my isp was just having severe packet loss.
