Hello!
I've been trying to get back into the game after largely skipping Stormblood (only showing up for seasonal events and such). Since coming back though I've been having serious issues with Error 90002's happening in instances. This wasn't happening previously, even in seasonal events like the recent Valentione's Day requiring an instance.
I am 99% certain it only happens in instances. It even happens in solo instances, like Air Force One in the Golden Saucer, where there are no other players involved. As such I believe it must be something unique to instanced content as I can spend hours running leves, beast tribe quests, and gathering/crafting without issue or a single disconnect. Meanwhile I average at least one disconnect in a dungeon instance, and sometimes 2-3. The timing and quantity seems random (I have run entire dungeons without a disconnect, and have had boss fights where I get disconnected multiple times in one fight).
The disconnects are instantaneous. There is no visible rubber banding due to a loss of data packets. Everything will be running fine and then *snap* the game screen goes blank with a 90002 error, then back at the title screen and (probably) a login queue.
I am running a Windows 7 64-bit machine with an Intel processor. Using integrated WIFI on an ASUS Z170-Premium motherboard. Router is a Linksys WRT3200ACM.
Solutions I have tried:
-Port Forwarding - All ports listed on Shadowbringers' system requirements list.
-Modifying Internet Options in Internet Explorer - Following guide in this thread.
-ip /release /renew and dns flush - Also suggested in the above thread.
-Uninstall and reinstall FFXIV
-checked to make sure FFXIV boot and launcher is allowed through Firewall
At this point I'm pretty much at a loss. This is the first time I've had serious connection issues with this game, and none of my hardware is particularly new.
Hope that you can help!!
