    [Spoilers] The Minfilia 2.0 Appreciation Thread

    Just want to say whoever does the character design and the storyboard for this character had done a great job for this character. They have put quite a lot of thought into this character, from the design to the story and the voice acting (I'm listening to the Japanese one). I like her character growth and progression in the expansion so far.
    She is easily one of my fave NPC. (The only thing I feel 'meh' was the hair color change but that's just a small issue)

    Here's hoping that she'll get more developments and be involved in future expansions.

    Not sure how far you are into the expansion based on your post but just in case, and in case someone comes in here who hasn't finished...

    This is how I wish OG Minfilia had been handled. A good idea, handled with smart and empathetic writing that trusts the audience enough to SHOW us Ryne's struggles rather than tell us about them second hand. I can't even begin to tell you how shocked and pleased I was that the story trusted my intelligence enough to infer that Ryne's confidence issues wouldn't disappear after her initial arc. And that most importantly she is being written as a character first and a plot device second, unlike /again/ OG Minfilia who is a walking, talking plot device and who would shed any development she received in accordance with when it suited the role the plot demanded of her. It just shows you how far we've come since ARR, because no matter how good OG Minfilia's concept was on paper the writing let her down /spectacularly/. I sincerely hope that whomever is handling the next few patch cycles continues to handle her character with care and that we can enjoy many more adventures with her going forward.
