This one's a bit more nuanced. Running a trial with a good tank? Absolutely you have Aetherflow forever and you basically don't even need to use a single heal outside of AF...and you STILL have AF left over. Change over to a dungeon with a tank that pulls wall to wall and doesn't know what cooldowns are? A WHM is mildly annoyed because they only get half the Holy casts....whereas the SCH uses all their AF and Consolation and Fey Union and Dissipation and Recitation and burns enough mana to use Lucid and still goes OOM...and if they're lucky the tank survives. If we'd been able to Aetherflow before he went nuts, might not have been an issue. If our baseline GCD healing spells were on par with WHM (Physick is quite literally a less powerful Cure1)...might not be an issue. As it stands, it can be.

The class is entirely feast or famine right now. Either everything is going great...or nothing is. There is no middle ground, and quite frankly I'd go as far as to argue that which situation we fall in almost entirely falls on the skill of the tank we get paired with, with very little allowance for our own abilities to make up for such.
It wasn't really about the difficulty of it so much as making interruptions to the flow of outgoing damage less impactful to the DPS the Healer was doing in the first place.
To get back to 'full' dps in 4.x, We needed 3 GCDs and an oGCD. So if those DoTs fell off because there was a spike in damage and you needed to heal, you'd lose 8~ seconds trying to get it back.
With 1 DoT and 1 nuke, maintaining the single DoT is easy and stopping to heal isn't as punishing since you're almost always just a single Broil away from getting back to max DPS.

Also, its not unique to SCH that a skilled Tank is easy to heal. WHMs 'suffer' something similarly when the Tank doesn't need Afflatus heals, which holds up Misery casts. Unless you badly overheal (The same complaint made against AF). AST is probably the only one that doesn't have anything like that, since their resource/mechanic is +DPS buffs for everyojne else, that's always useful. No matter how much/little healing is required.

However, its also true that even a highly skilled Tank will need Healing. So again, the solution is simple. If you need to use AF to not waste a charge before refreshing, plan it out. Hold off an Adloq or 3 if you need to. Someone, somewhere will take a hit that you can burn a Lustrate on.
SCH is built on planning, so plan how you're not going to waste Aetherflow.
