    90002 Error

I've experienced 90002 errors roughly since Stormblood, but with Shadowbringers out, it's starting to get irritating. Normally, I get kicked to the lobby and can get back in pretty quickly, but at the start of this expansion and considering the high player queues, getting kicked during prime time pretty much means I'm done gaming for the night. I've tried the long list of solutions that are normally posted i.e. adjust the settings in IE, portforwarding, etc. I've also tried VPNs. I've turned off my firewalls on both my router/modem and my computer. I've gotten brand new CAT6 cables. I've basically done everything that I can do to prevent these frequent disconnects. Still, over this period of time, I have noticed some things about the timing of the disconnects.

The biggest observation is that they mostly occur during an instance switch, particularly with duty finder. It's either when I enter a dungeon or exit that I will experience this. Basically, if there's a fade-to-black scene switch, it seems most likely to occur, although it isn't restricted to that. I've had these 90002 happen very randomly, such as talking to an NPC or even flying in a zone.

Thought I'd add my two cents and see if SE and/or the forum community had any suggestions for me. This is a brand new computer, so that sorta rules it out (and the disconnects occurred on my older PC as well.) Thank you all for reading. Happy gaming!

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

You mentioned you've been having this issue for a while. How often are you disconnected from the game? Is it more often now the Shadowbringers has launched?

You also mentioned getting a new PC. I'm assuming you had the same issues with your previous PC?

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

The number of disconnects is very random. Some days, I may disconnect once or twice. Other days, I will disconnect as often as five or six times. Each time, it takes me back to the lobby and, provided there is no queue, I often can relog in after a few seconds (which is the time it takes for the game to register I'm offline, I guess.)

Yes, I've had the same issue between both PCs.

    Thank you!

I learned something last night that might have been my own personal issue. ANywho, I was seeing a ton of Ipv4 loops going on in my resmon. Did some research on Intel Technology Access Service.exe (this is ONLY for IPAD's and things that can run in clamshell mode) (i.e. not desktops)

Opened up MSCONFIG, turned off ALL non windows items (most was intel stuff).. Rebooted, and testing now. I haven't 90k'd all night.

Just a quick update: I tried the UPNP 1 > 0 fix in the FFXIV configuration file. I had no disconnects last night, but this morning, I had two. One occurred prior to entering an instance and the other happened BEFORE the boss pull (one of the players was watching the cutscene). Again, the consistency is in where the d/cs occur, but not when. Also, Nomuno, how would I determine Ipv4 loops? Where would that be under the resource monitor? Apologies in advance, but I'm not completely tech savvy.

Do the moderators have any suggestions outside of what I have already done? If there is a way to minimize the disconnection rate, I would love to know.

Thank you for the reply alchemicsword.

The troubleshooting we can provide has to do with strengthening the connection of your home network (your router and PC). If the issue is happening across more than one PC and you have tried the troubleshooting we normally suggest, it sounds like the issue stems from outside of your home network. It's likely that you are running into an issue on your way to the server. This is usually the result of congestion or a routing issue before you reach the server.

If your on a PC, have you tried a GPN like WTFast to see if it persists? They have a free trial you can easily check out.

So what are we supposed to do? I can't raid like this. Is Square's official response that we're just SOL?

I guess I won't be playing anymore tonight because of these disconnects ever time I get into a duty.

Get it together SE. Your game is unplayable.
