Or, alternatively...turn off your speakers? Mute your audio? There are tons of ways to NOT have it blast when you decide to AFK, and could potentially be booted to the title screen

Cinematic intro ignore all muting options. I only have the system sound on while client out so I can hear queue pop or FC chat.

The difference in audio volume is the real issue. You go from in game sweet piano music to loud Hard metal and drum.

What's wrong with muting your speakers then before you go afk? That's what I do if I'm not browsing the internet whilst afk.

EDIT: you don't need to even turn off your speakers, just go to your audio options and select open volume mixer and mute ffxiv sounds, just remember to unmute them when you're back online!
