So your ingame sound and speakers are so cranked up during gameplay that it can be heard across the house.
Then you have some trailer playing and suddenly it is an annoyance. Huh?

The trailer music is far louder than the rest of the game music.

yeah. that is why at the beginning of the xpac release squeenix said if too many people do that sort of thing they will just reboot the server to force them off.

This doesn't work. The intro ignores the game sound settings. It will even play while tabbed out when you tell the game not to play sounds if the game is not the focus.

This is actually a bug and not intended.

Just queue for BCOB There is no way you are getting in accidentally, and you can AFK without boot as the game doesn't boot you if you AFK while in queue.

I kinda hope that, having spread the word on this, you and anyone using this trick suddenly start finding yourselves with queues popping because, hey! Suddenly people are queuing for this now. =p

I have "mute all sounds" on a macro so I can toggle it on and off, shut them down in game and it mutes the sounds when logged out too

You could always... I dunno... log off and shut down the game if you anticipate being away long enough to get afk booted. I mean I am pretty sure the timer is 30 minutes of inactivity. If you're going to be gone long enough for it kick you why not just preemptively log off and eliminate the inevitable blare of music?

If you're going to take a "small break" then just log off. I get that you want to avoid a queue when you come back, but if you're getting afk kicked frequently enough for the login music to be an issue, maybe you really should just log off for those breaks because either way you're ending up back in a queue.

Pretty much this, it’s also in your advantage to do so because you accumulate a rested exp bonus if you logout in a sanctuary.

You don't have to logout to accumulate rested exp. You just have to be in the sanctuary.
