SE know's people will do this and if too many people do, they will log out the whole data center. So good job if you(Not "you", in general) do this, you just F**ked over everybody.

Cinematic intro ignore all muting options. I only have the system sound on while client out so I can hear queue pop or FC chat.
The difference in audio volume is the real issue. You go from in game sweet piano music to loud Hard metal and drum.
What's wrong with muting your speakers then before you go afk? That's what I do if I'm not browsing the internet whilst afk.
EDIT: you don't need to even turn off your speakers, just go to your audio options and select open volume mixer and mute ffxiv sounds, just remember to unmute them when you're back online!

This has happened many times to me before. It was humorous at first but quickly became an annoying.I get that for server performances we get afk booted after a while.
But I would appreciate if the logging cinematic music would stop blasting my speaker every time i get booted.
Like, i take a small break to do a few chores and then I hear a big thundering sound coming from computer room that is easily heard from all across the house. Its particularly annoying if I am unable to turn it off at that moment. (In bath, toilet, etc)
Make an option to turn off the intro music from the system options?
Now you got to remember that the afk measure is actually temporary so implementing this config option is moot. Best thing you can do until afk booting is removed is to simply turn of your audio peripherals/functions when you leave your game.
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
I just minimise my game and have my audio settings set to mute game sounds whilst window is inactive. That way I don't hear the game sounds whilst I'm afking. Either that or I mute my sound entirely if I'm afk for a lot longer. I can't be bothered with logging in and out all the time, if I stay logged in, when I'm ready to play again all I have to do is select my character and wait a short while in a queue.

Ah, right, the actual cinematic part of the intro screen. My mistake, not considering that.
So your ingame sound and speakers are so cranked up during gameplay that it can be heard across the house.
Then you have some trailer playing and suddenly it is an annoyance. Huh?
