Hey there, ever since 7/6/2019 I have been suffering from severe graphical issues and crashes in FFXIV.

When I launch the game in DX11 mode everything seems to work but randomly (can't figure out if theres a source) the game will micro lock and then crash with a "Fatal directx 11 error has occured (1100002)"

When I launch the game in DX9 mode I get like 10 frames in many areas, the upper part of Kholusia seems to cause my game to lock up for seconds at a time, and earlier today I tried to teleport out of the crystavrium and the game crashed with a "unexpected error occured".

I have reinstalled the game, made sure to update to very latest hotfixed drivers on my graphics card, as well as make sure any windows updates have happened.

Still an issue, directx9 mode is getting worse, have to restart game every couple of hours due to locking up for seconds at atime.

I apologize for the delay in our response to your concern. When the Direct X crash occurred, were there any programs running in the background? Does the crash happen when one monitor is disabled? Also please try doing a cleanboot. Open the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC.

I have done a clean boot multiple times, I will attempt to do the one monitor. I have had programs of various kinds running in the background, but I've also tried it with 0 background programs and had the crash.

EDIT: Tried it with a single monitor, this time it crashed while flying around gathering. So being on only 1 monitor doens't seem to do anything.

It still isn't working, in fact I can just boot the game up and let it go into intro movie and it crashes with the same error without me doing anything, I don't even have to log in.

I'd also like to say that since ShB dropped and the "end" of support for DX9, DX9 after a while on playing no matter what version of nVidia drivers I'm on crashes with an "unexpected error (1)". All of a sudden the frames will start to tank and then boom, crashed.

Still getting severely degraded performance on DX9 and crashes on DX11. Please do not mark this as resolved just cause I dont whine about it "every" day.

There are a few more troubleshooting steps to try if you haven't already:

1) Set the compatibility mode to Windows 7. Right-click on the ffxivboot.exe file and select ‘Properties.’ Then select the ‘Compatibility’ tab and choose Windows 7.

2) Double-check that your anti-virus/firewall has the appropriate exceptions for Final Fantasy XIV.

3) If any part of your PC is overclocked (including factory overclocks), remove them. Check that your PC is not overheating.

4) Disable all overlays (Geforce Experience, Steam overlay, etc.) that may be active while you are playing the game.
