You mean they are less usefull because they now have a boost in damage over there base classes, and can further succeed in there respective DD roles???

True with regards to Dragoon and Monk. The Black Mages in my group find BLM no different than THM with regards to damage output. Again, the BLMs I know prefer THM for anything serious.

Jobs were not meant to replace classes in every situation.

If the Jobs are not meant to be utilized for the most difficult of situations, and especially for party play with their noted lack of cross-class capability, then I am at a loss as to where to use them.

Especially since the Jobs were such a central point to the initial excitement of XIV (that iconic screenshot we all love), I question the position of "Jobs are not meant to be class replacements."

I may have the wrong impression, as may my social circle, but our position is that we would like to see some more bamf from the iconic Jobs we remember from our childhoods. Q=(o.oQ) There's a good reason why the playerbase was psyched for them, and it wasn't just to take them XPing, I think.

Last I checked, "just about everywhere" and "in all situations" have very different meanings. Every reference i made was to groups. I personally believe the classes would generally be supirior to jobs in solo or low man situations in which you do not have the right classes to mesh abilities.

If you want to discuss this subject we can. If your going to be incapable of doing so by making weak attempts to twist my words, then you will just start a flame war.

I think you are taking yourself a bit too seriously, sir. I was confused by your post, and stated just as much. o.0 The references I have made were also to groups. I have also said that the classes are superior in solo and low man situations.

Your previous points do nothing but underscore my own point, which is that the Jobs themselves are less utilitarian in particularly difficult situations, ostensibly when they should be at their finest. Saying thereafter that they arer dependent upon another class to achieve reasonable functionality in a difficult situation again only furthers my point. As simple a change as not locking off access to Stoneskin or Sentinel is sufficient to address the problem, or removing the HP penalty on Jobs compared to Classes. It needn't be both - perhaps there is even another idea that might be doable.

Pointing out a logical fallacy, real or imagined, does not equal beginning a flame war. ( O.o) Please calm yourself.

As for Sleepga, I grant that it is extremely useful in situations like Myrmidon Princess, but it's irrelevant to Ifrit or Moogle. (0.o) Freeze should not be necessary if your tank is competent, and to be honest, I've yet to be in a situation where my casters were screaming for MP. That doesn't mean that such situations don't exist, but I haven't encounter them yet. (O.< ) $0.02.

They stated jobs would be more group oriented for there combined utility benefits, and classes would be more beneficial to low man/solo situations. Essentially displaying that the difference between jobs and classes is working as intended.

I am saying that while it may be working as intended, I, and my social circle, think that one or two small alterations would do no harm, and would go a great way towards making the Jobs work much better in their stated functions, and I posted just that. o.o That's all, really.

Personally, I think that it would make more sense for the Jobs to have higher maximum HP and lower maximum MP, and for Classes to have higher maximum MP, and lower maximum HP. Outside of extreme boss battles, how much HP you have at any given moment (for attacks like Hellfire, Moggle's finisher, whatever Garuda will have) is less important than how much HP you have over the course of the battle (more MP for additional cures, Decoys, et cetera). o.o
