An unexpected error has occurred. Exiting Final Fantasy XIV.(17)

This seems to happen intermittently when I'm loading into a crowded area, mostly a capital city, Gold Saucer etc. It doesn't seem to happen always, so I'm not sure if it's related to the current load of that zone instance it's trying to load me.

Once it happens, the character is just stuck. I can login to other characters fine, but not to that one. Sometimes, switching to DirectX 9 fixes the issues, but not always.

I'm a returning player, and I -just- did a clean install of this game a few days ago. I've tried most of the solutions I've seen recommended in this thread at some point or another. I've seen people with my exact same problem description, but no final resolution to it.

Any help would be appreciated, because at this point I'm heavily considering just canceling my return to the game.

Oh, the character in question is currently stuck in Lower La Noscea, or at least that's what the location shows her to be at.

If this is only happening with this one character, you may want to remove locally-saved data folder (located My Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy XIV). Be sure to make a backup of this just in case it doesn't resolve the issue.
