You are upset and that is understandable but this is only 5.0, we still have a lot of content yet in this expansion and they are going to work on the healer side of things besides you can be in a game that might not make any changes for years and years. Plus you was never in 1.0 either, so count your lucky stars on that one.
I love this game I do! I enjoyed playing for like 4 years. I feel like SE thinks we are stupid this is the exact same thing over and over and over. Next expansion will take my money elsewhere because there is no more growth. That's why I pay is to have growth but sorry I'm not gonna buy into this anymore. I started out as SMN but went healers and the fact they didn't add another healer and the generic feel to the current 3. This is not what I call a final fantasy game.
See ya!
Plenty of Eorzea for the rest of us.
I love WHM they made it feel so much better. I just starting leveling my AST and it seems pretty cool as well. Sorry it's not to your liking but another healer wasn't something that had to be to make or continue to make the game fun for me. Gets really old listening to the I hate they didn't do this or that. They released an awesome expansion and it's just not possible to make EVERYONE happy. Enjoy whatever other game you decide to play. I hope they make you happy.I love this game I do! I would not say that the game has lost its identity in the slightest. As a SCH main (currently leveling WHM and still on the fence about AST), I can understand your frustration with what happened to the Healers, but we've never been so powerful when it comes to keeping people alive. Well, as a SCH and WHM, I'd say so. I've heard that AST is leaving some things left wanting, but I digress.
As far as "generic" goes, I'm not seeing what you're seeing. Scholars still play like Scholars, White Mages still play like White Mages, Astrologians still play like Astrologians. I'm of the impression that SE is about to rebuild the current healers from the ground up with rebalances so that they can introduce a 4th, but that couldn't happen with the poor balancing they had in the previous expac. Was I, a Scholar, upset that we had our DPS kit gutted? You bet your ass I was. I miss Miasma II, Energy Drain, and Bane, but we weren't going to stay on top forever. White Mage wasn't going to be left in the dust forever. It's impossible to have true balance without having the fundamentals of our healers' concepts being somewhat homogenized. The gimmicks of each of them is what's going to grant them their identity and build a unique playstyle between them.
I think people need to stop expecting the devs to re-invent the wheel every expansion with its content. They use the same formula over and over because it works.
That's not to say they shouldn't be innovative with developing new types of content, the restoration of Ishgard is proof of that.
Also we aren't even a month into the expansion, I think it's a bit early to be making calls that they never do anything new and that it's the same old thing.
Yall can be mad two years from now I just get it out and move on.I think people need to stop expecting the devs to re-invent the wheel every expansion with its content. They use the same formula over and over because it works.
