I may agree in that the team might underestimate us, our capabilities, and our interests. How they changed the classes (while also doing a double whammy on healers by not giving us a new healer and homogenising them, all while giving us the same excuses as last time) was not good.
However, the story was taken in a new direction. The story itself has had tremendous growth. To start, our characters were just goody-two-shoes who could not say no. S/He had to fight constantly. And, as a player, I was burnt out. ARR was total crap. HW was very good, but I was burnt out by the end of that one, too. SB had potential but it was thrown to the wind and not directed very well (imo). Shadowbringers has been, by far, the most enjoyable and potentially FF-like story thus far. It's just a shame that everything else (minus the music) either had corners cut or were sabotaged.
But yeah. It's up to you if you go elsewhere. I remember trying out other MMOs a while back, and even at FF's worst: most MMOs I tried paled in comparison by far. They may have done certain things better, but their pros didn't outweigh FF's cons. That's just my experience, though. You might find your niche elsewhere.
I won't be coming back to FFXIV's forums. The forum vibe is way too venomous and brings out the worst in me. I don't like who I am on the forums, so it's best to distance myself.
People are missing the point. I didn't say the graphics story were bad. I'm saying the games identity is turning generic you can see it with the jobs!!
Aside from some balancing issues, such as 2 of the 3 healers feeling the same and underpowered (SCH and AST) while 1 healer puts them to shame (WHM), and DNC apparently having subpar dps, this expansion has been off to a good start. I'd say this is their best start so far. Just because they did healers dirty, however, doesn't mean that the game as a whole has lost its identity. It has stuck to its identity fairly well. Healers could use some balancing and fixing for sure though. I'm not entirely sure where you're going with all of this to be honest. You just seem salty about the game as a whole. It may be time for you to take a break. No shame in that.
Cool man! Have fun with the plethora of fantastic mmo choices better than ffxiv! There aren't any.I love this game I do! I enjoyed playing for like 4 years. I feel like SE thinks we are stupid this is the exact same thing over and over and over. Next expansion will take my money elsewhere because there is no more growth. That's why I pay is to have growth but sorry I'm not gonna buy into this anymore. I started out as SMN but went healers and the fact they didn't add another healer and the generic feel to the current 3. This is not what I call a final fantasy game.
No excuse they allowed a 4th tank then gutted the heck out of healers sorry no story is gonna cover that loss and I can be upset. I know I'm not the only one. It needs to be said
You mean they gutted the dps of healers? Thats not gutting healers, and seems in line with a Final Fantasy thing to do (most healer jobs in Final Fantasy seem to only heal, unless you add in some subjob or materia or other game mechanic things).
You can be upset, but your argument doesn't make sense in line with what you are saying.
Also, the tanks are pretty well balanced, so it seems what they were saying in that regard is true.

The no healer thing has been said. A million times. So no it didn't need to be said. Yes healers need a fix. But that will come. It honestly sounds like you were expecting some other reaction when you're beating a dead horse.
No I'm not waiting another 2 years for them to fix the bullcrap they created so no
I don't care if it's 20 dollars or not. Let them get some bad press. They will be quick to fix it then.
