"Confirm" on duty roulette auto-switches to job you queued as

This kind of feels like a no brainer. I just recently missed a queue because I was in crafting mode and I wasn't able to switch over to the job I queued as due to another issue I find (see below for expanded details).

I don't know why this is hasn't been put in game or any reasons why this wouldn't be, but hitting "confirm" on a queue pop should auto-switch you to the class you chose. Tired of having to hunt through my set list or action bars just to be able to switch class.

    Long section:
So, I set my crafting to auto-synth and went afk for a few minutes to eat some food. Come back and queue has 10 seconds left before I get kicked for not responding.
Stuck in the synthesis menu because hitting 'Esc' does nothing and I did not realize that.
I missed queue because you are forced to click "end synthesis" and wait for your character to leave the crafting animation before you can switch jobs.

I mean you went afk so that's kinda on you.... but I do agree it would be nice if the job you queued with was automatically switched on entry in to a duty. It's kinda annoying when you are doing FATEs/hunts as one job, but another job you queued up for can't be switched to because you are stuck in combat.

I don't see them implementing this, but even if they had, you still would have missed your pop from being AFK because of course they would still make you click End Synthesis and wait for your character to stand up before it would work.

    Solutions:
    A) Don't go AFK while in queue.
    B) Get a wireless headset so if you go AFK during queue you can hear the schwing.
    C) Organize your gearsets better so you can find the right one quickly.

I would like that, sometimes I wait by doing FATEs and the mob will keep charging after me when I run away in order to change back.

I too, would appreciate this. There were quite a few occasions while doing the MSQ (or even certain sidequests) where I needed to be on a particular job (either to meet a role requirement, or to put the exp on some other job I wasn't queued for) and my duty would pop mid-cutscene. I could either skip the cutscene, swap, and accept the queue, or I could let the queue expire. Most of the time I chose the former option, leading me to missing several cutscenes. YES, I know you can rewatch cutscenes, however you cannot rewatch everything. I was quite disappointed when I read about people laughing at the final Clan Nutsy cutscene, and then hearing about the disappointment that it seemed to be one of the ones you couldn't re-watch. That happened to be one of the ones I skipped due to a duty queue.

At this point, every time I'm queued for something, I ALWAYS make sure to go into cutscenes as the job that I'm queued for (unless I can't, because the cutscene is either attached to the quest pick-up and has role requirements, or is attached to the quest turn-in and I want the exp on something else; both of which are unfortunately rather common).

The aforementioned "in a FATE and mob won't leave me alone" problem also happened to me several times, but for me personally, it never took me the full 45sec to drop aggro. With that said, I certainly wouldn't mind the convenience of not having to do that.

Realistically, however, I understand why this limitation exists. That isn't to say it's impossible to implement, but it may not be as simple as it sounds. Lets run through the logic.
    1) If the system is allowed to switch your equipped job; what gear would it put you in? (simple enough, what you were wearing when you queued)
    2) If the system puts on the gear you were wearing when you queued, what happens if that gear is no longer in your armory chest? Or does it somehow prevent that gear from leaving your armory chest until the queue resolves?
    3) If some of the gear is no longer available, what does the system do if you no longer meet the iLevel requirement of the duty you're queued for?
    4) The leveling duties do not have an iLevel requirement. So if you got rid of your pants somehow before the duty started, you're just pantsless now?
    5) You queued on a job that does not have an offhand item. You switch to PLD, and buy a new shield and now your offhand armory chest is full. The system now CANNOT switch you to a job that doesn't use an offhand until you remove something. What happens?

Personally, I would solve these problems by...
    1) The system equips whatever you had when you queued.
    2) The system does not prevent the aforementioned gear from leaving your armory chest, but any slots that it can't fill with what you were wearing when you queued are now empty slots. If you hit "Commence" and it cannot find the exact gear you were wearing when you queued for the duty, it pops open a character screen and asks you to verify if it's okay to go in with whatever slots are empty.
    3) If you no longer meet whatever iLevel requirement when you hit "Commence" because one or more of the pieces of gear from when you queued aren't available for some reason, then hitting "Commence" displays an error and you are withdrawn from the queue. Alternatively, the character screen could pop up allowing you to fill in those gaps.
    4) Unfortunate, but you're going in pantsless (also: see #2, it could show you before you entered).
    5) Similar to #3, if the system can't change you back to your job, you get an error and are withdrawn when you try to hit "Commence".

A lot of your "solutions" involve keeping another window open for an indeterminate amount of time, locking the other people who accepted into something they can't get out of. (the way the current system is now)

if someone went AFK or had an issue and left those other people trapped, that would be a problem.

Really? The 45sec timer doesn't have to stop. Not done by the time it goes off? Same thing that happens now. You're out. Easy.

I’d imagine this isn’t a thing due to some technical hurdle they’d have to work out and haven’t felts it’s worth the time, but I really wish it was though. Sometimes I’ve found myself in a cut scene while on the wrong job and thus either have to miss the queue or skip the cut scene. I’ve also been in a fate or something on the wrong job and occasionally not been able to get away due to inadvertently aggroing something else as I’m trying to disengage from the first battle so I could swap jobs. There’s lots of reasons you could find yourself having to skip or miss queues due to the game not having the ability to auto swap you to the correct job, so I do hope it’s something they look into eventually.
