New & CONFUSED! PVP

I dont know where to start. Unlocked Borderlands and i expected to be confused and i understand my spells will be different but, no pet or self heal? I am new summoner. I felt severely handicapped.

And there was my team and a team in red and a team in yellow. Both those were enemies?

Also how do I find a pvp team (that is patient)

I'm no PVPer, but first advice would prolly be to get yourself down to the Wolves' Den Pier off Lower La Noscea. At least there you can take a look at all your bits, arrange skills and hotbars, test things on dummies, etc.

That is the first thing I did. Entering the pvp world in this game is like a maze. I hate to give up on my love of pvp because I can find no answers anywhere

They explain a fair bit in the msq when frontlines is open. They also have a page dedicated to explaining pvp on this website plus job pages which have all the pve and pvp skills listed and gauges explained.

There's readily available answers to ur questions...

The only way into pvp that i have found is one daily. I know there is more to it than this

PvP is basically split into three game modes.

*The Feast
*Frontlines
*Rival Wings

The Feast is an arena type pvp mode. Close quarters, 4v4. The dynamics of that mode can be vastly different from the other two. It's a bit more hardcore. It's not as popular as Frontlines, but it's primarily what the PvP designers balance jobs around.

Frontlines is FFXIV's version of battlegrounds. It's large scale pvp but with three teams instead of two. There are three possible maps for Frontlines -

The Borderland Ruins (Secure)
Seal Rock (Seize)
The Fields of Glory (Shatter)

Only one map for Frontlines is available per day. There is a rotation cycle between the three and everyday a different map is selected for availability to play on. Your once per day PvP daily queue will simply queue you into the available Frontlines map, but with bonus rewards for completion. Afterwards, you can manually queue as many times as you like by selecting the available map.

Rival Wings is the latest pvp mode added. You can unlock Rival Wings by completing the quest 'Earning Your Wings' from a quest given at Wolves Den Pier. Currently only one map for Rival Wings is available - Hidden Gorge.

I signed up for Feast and after 2 hr wait i gave up.. twice. I did unlock Frontlines so now I will go unlock Rival.. thank you for the info!

You might have been waiting for feast due to trying to get into ranked mode. The ranked season hasn't started yet. There will be an announcement on the next patch.

There are certain times that players queue to get it to pop. It depends on your data center as well. There's a really great discord for people getting into PvP called pvpaissa. Here's the link:
