    Tired of Robe-looking armor

Enough with the robe-looking, cape, skirt-attached, half skirt armor designs already. Enough.

We have too much already and every single design is like this. I want something that does not look like I\\'m wearing a flowy- flowy garment. Please give us more options. In addition, cape/ robes don\\'t really fit with the fighting style of many melee jobs, it\\'s dangerous to wear something not form-fitting in batlle. Don\\'t tell me, "how about glowing armor , thats not realistic". I\\'m not asking for everything to be realistic but just different kinds of options, but almost every armor has some flowy cape or half scarf attached to it. At least allow it to be removable.

I believe even mage classes will support me on this. There are mages who want to dress combat style like battlemages. But all they get are dresses. Even tanks HW and SB armors are all some form of skirt. The armor and glamour options definitey need major improvements.

Then...glam? There is plenty of armour in the game that isn't robe-like, and I'm saying that as a person who mains a caster.

People really have to top it with their "then glam" !

The new expansion is here, we shouldn't be forced to glam 90% of the new gear (I'm not saying I am). Robes for healers/casters, ok... But robes for EVERY jobs...? Come on ! It's time for S.E to renew a bit their way of designing gear for some classes. Oh and if I may add... They should stop LONG BOOTS too...

What do you mean forced? Whether gear looks nice or not is most times down to personal taste. SE can't please everyone because it's simply impossible. No one is being forced to glam. It's an option if you don't like how something looks.

But when players feel the need to have to glamour everything, then it's not that much of an option, now is it?

Also, I don't mind robe armors, especially since they aren't nearly as bad as the endless supply of thigh boots in the game.

I main a caster and I don't like how most caster gear looks so I glam all the time. But I recognise it's not because the gear looks bad, that it's because they're not to my personal taste. I don't feel forced to glam. I feel liberated by glamming because it means I'm not forced to wear something I dislike.

There are times when I glam a lower level/ilevel gear because I like the way it looks(case in point the DRG SB artifact gear - I am glamming that onto everything as I gear up my DRG because I like the look of it).
There are times I wish I could glam something onto a class that can't wear it(the gatherer leather jacket with undershirt - can't remember name of it right now, but I have it on a retainer because I love the look...even if I can't use it on anything but gatherer).

There are also gears that I love the look of that are newer, and thus will not glam(not currently, but it does happen sometimes).

It is really all personal choice whether a player feels the need to have to glamour everything.

If it isn't a cute dress or some facsimile thereof, I'm glamming it with a cute dress.

So, yeah... I pretty much feel the need to glamour everything.

What?! No way, there are nowhere near enough plain, utilitarian, multi-job-equippable long boots without nonsense stuck to them. I was with you on the robes (would love more halfrobes, jackets and coats for certain jobs) but a man can never have too many thigh boots. Never.

I don't mind a glut of robes during a heavily asian-themed expansion but when the glamour gods work on new sets it would be nice to get a few which show off more than the shoes of the rest of my outfit. Gloves which go over sleeves need to die too (or come in two variants, over and under, for when we have our glamour log and a relaxing of glamour restrictions...)

I wish I could wear long boots. MNK shoes all suck. I also have a distaste for robes for everyone. I like to think of Yda's ARR outfit as an ideal MNK look. Loose fitting top, short shorts, and plated armor because kicking mobs with skin like steel must hurt. We don't even get actual traditional monk garb and that's about as robe-y as it gets.

Ain't no point when the glams dont increase with the expansion. There's nothing exciting about reusing the same old thing you've seen for several years when there's an entirely fresh opportunity to have something new.
