Confused about this second job thing...what am I missing?

I’m a new player so forgive my ignorance please

A couple of night ago I was leveling my Archer and at some point I got a notice saying I was now able to obtain other jobs. But I have a lvl 53 Paladin on the same character and have joined guilds of a lot of different jobs so I can not figure out what that’s about.

What am I missing?

If you hit 30 on archer, it may have been the message that lets you know you can unlock the advanced job (Bard) for it?

You may have a quest at the Archer's Guild that ultimately sends you to your new job trainer.

You're allowed to have every job on the same character. So once you hit level 30 it's possible to upgrade your class (archer) to its job (bard)

Check the guildhall for the archers and see if there's a quest there to start things going, if it's not there, I think the rest of the quests are just outside Quarrymill in South Shroud.

That would make sense but I'm not 30 yet on my archer.

Was archer the job you started on when you created the character? You might just be getting messages about deprecated mechanics that haven't been fully removed. Whatever the case may be, since you already have other jobs leveled on the same character you can probably ignore the message since it's most likely giving you information you already know.

I just didn't know if it was possible to mix job abilities or something that I missed. I think it was that way back in the day...just making sure I'm not missing something.

What level did you hit? Whenever you get to a level that unlocks a new class/job quest, you get a message tellig you so, regardless of if you're up to date on the jog/class quest chain or not. IE if you hit 25 archer it would give you that notification. Is that what you saw maybe?
