Obviously lol, but they assumed they are doing right by Zodiark is what I'm saying. Everything isn't just black and white even though we are literally saving the lives of another world.

I dont know what you actually expected? The story isnt even finished yet and there is still Elidibus to fight against. Also, in StB Zenos beat the s**t out of us several times in the early MSQ. Basically we were to weak to beat him and they actually made a good job that you level up throughout the MSQ to face Zenos one more time. So I do not think the bad guys are always "losing".

Yes, genocide is awful, however, restoring a shade does not count as genocide. As Emet-Selch put it: "You are not actually alive to me."

Well, would you look at that? Guess what? He's right.
I honestly have to ask are you trolling, psychotic, or just attention craving?
cause there is nothing right in Emets line of reasoning there. it's that exact line of thinking that caused the concentration camps.

It's a fictional setting. It isn't real. Everybody is free to support whatever character and faction they so wish by virtue of it being complete fiction. You can find something abhorrent in the real world but find it cool in a fictional setting.

I'd say the only people in need of help in this thread are those who cannot realise that simple fact. Then again, they seem to unironically be completely oblivious to the fact that they simply want to enforce their own views on everybody else at any cost.

It's the equivalent of complaining because someone supports the Lannisters rather than the Starks in Game of Thrones. Different people have different tastes when it comes to the media that they consume.

If you're going to personify a chicken you should at least try raising them first. Chickens are a**holes. They're selfish, eat anything including each other, and attack anything that gets in the way of their food.

True enough. There can pretty much be no discussion when people have this radical view of fiction. The whole point of the Shadowbringers storyline completely flies over some people's heads, I think.

Not really I understand the point of the storyline I just find the Ascians repugnant As too the idea of genocide even fictional. Chaulk it up to having grandparents that survived the real thing and were pretty candid.

Hah, funny that! Emet made pretty much the same argument.

As for others likening this scenario with real world events... there is a convenient line to be drawn. Emet is not human. He is very clearly superior to us in almost every way. At the very least 14 times so than the average shard dweller. That is why people are bringing up the chicken analogy. Its not perfect, but its easy, and gets the point across how he sees us.

A redeeming point in all of this is, that while he sees us as clearly inferior, he still regularly tests the mortals. He's not set in his way of thinking. If mortals pass his test, they passed the bare minimum level where they are worth actually considering living (or sentient). He then proposes an alliance... if they refuse, he kills them. If in turn they kill him (like we did) then we've made our point. The lesser races DO deserve to live, and not be used as fuel in their revival. If they cant, well... might makes right.

Anyways, it boils down to relativistic vs absolutist morals. If you see absolutely nothing in Emets case that you could sympathize with, you probably follow the latter. If you see his point, but still think he's wrong, well you probably got what the writers were going for.

You don't have to be a moral "absolutist" to think that murdering entire planets is wrong. What utter nonsense.
