Aether currents cannot be collected

Please close this. Upon Rongway's explanation and further testing, the issue is not any sort of Bug.

I cannot collect aether currents in Rak'Tika Greatwood. Aether Current Log displays no information for Rak'Tika even though I have entered the zone and completed storyline quests in the zone. Code for unlocking aether currents in Rak'Tika Greatwood never triggered, or data marking whether aether currents in Rak'Tika Greatwood are availiable became corrupted. I will need someone to manually reset this specific bit of data.

Steps:
1. Entered "Rak'Tika Greatwood" during quest "Into the Dark" worked normally
2. During "Into the Dark" you must interact with a spot inside "Fort Gohn". During first attempt the screen turned black and the computer seemed to be frozen. Possible cause
3. Forced a reboot of the computer, restarted game, interaction spot in Fort Gohn worked normally, cutscene played normally.
3. Completed main storyline quests up to "Saying Goodbye" seemed to work normally
4. Opened Travel > Aether Currents, windows has six section, top four list specific zones I have visited previously "Lakeland" "Amh Araeng" "Il Meng" "Kholusia". Bottom two sections both say "There is no information to display"
Note this is consistent with the moment before I entered "Rak'Tika Greatwood"
This is the first time the error was apparent
5. Exited zone, re-entered no change
6. Logged out, restarted computer, no change
7. Used both Aether current compass and online guide to locate a aether current at x8.6 y32.4. Got within 1 yalm of the Aether current, sound effect played but I could not see nor interact with the aether current
8. Teleported to La Noscea, waited two days, effect is still present

I’m not discounting the rest of your post, particularly the part where you said you were within 1y of what was supposed to be an Aether current, but the zone is supposed to show no information available until you collect one current. That much is not a bug.

Apologies. As Rongway described, it is normal for the Aether Currents Log to show no information when you until you collect one Aether current somehow. Somehow I was not aware of this. A;so the one invisible Aether current I described was behaving normally when I checked today, it was simply above the spot where I thought it was. (The Aether compass only describes horizontal distance apparently.) I misunderstood certain details of the game, and couldn't find any information online and assumed there was something horribly wrong. Sorry.

Please consider this issue closed. Bug is not a Bug.

Literally right on top of where the current is suppossed to be in the Tempest X 28.2 Y 15.8 X -2.1 No current would include a screenshot but SE doesnt accept those cause they could be "doctored" followed what my compass read 0 Yalms

I can’t check atm since I haven’t got those yet but is it possible they are above you or underground?

There are multiple layers in The Tempest. Just follow your MSQ and you will eventually run past the aethercurrent you’re referring to.
