FFXI is great and I want this return

In FFXI there was a function called "Invisible" which hid you from your friends list. I'd like to see this return in some form perhaps enhanced to work with linkshells and FC.

Sometimes I don't feel like talking to anyone or even saying I'm busy. This is good for those moments. Busy status isn't enough.

Oh gawd, yes. I've mentioned the XI to my friends before, and how much I'd love for that option to be a thing.

It's nice sometimes to just be able to log in, do what you want to do quietly, and then go on with your day. :X

The Invisible feature in FFXI did not actually hide you completely though - you would still show up in a manual player search (I found that out personally many a time using /invisible when certain people I did not want to speak to found me anyway). It definetely hid you from those who were lazy and just checked the Friend List, but a determined stalker or troll would double check anyway using the search function, and there you were (and in fact it would often cause further problems as they'd then realize you had specifically put yourself in Invisible status to hide yourself from them).

If it was thus brought into FFXIV, it would need to hide you completely, including removing you from player search.

Honestly every piece of interactive, multiplayer media should have this kind of feature. Sometimes you just don't want to deal with other people and that's okay.

I don't understand why you would have people in your friends list who you want to hide from, especially when you mention them as "trolls" "finding you anyway".

Just get rid of people who you don't want to be surrounded with. everyone else should understand the BUSY Status.
