What you have to bear in mind is that FFLogs doesn't measure satisfaction. What you'll tend to find is in many cases that people will still play their mains, even if they're dissatisfied, because it's their main or they're holding out for it to get better or don't want to play something else. So it only measures how popular a job is, not how satisfied people are. Whilst it can offer some indication that if a job isn't popular then maybe only few people probably like it as a job. In this case, I think the poll is a fairer indicator because it was a large sample size and measures the right data, if we're talking about job satisfaction.

I mean, case in point, the person who put up the stats has been angry about MNK's for 2 expansions and still plays a MNK. I know a MCH who sat through Stormblood despite hating what they did to it. The same with a WHM I know, who still isn't happy but will still main it. I know somebody who'd rather play DNC but is maining MCH for their static because that's what they wanted. I took the mentality that I'll play something else, but people can be comfortable in maining the roles they have already invested themselves in and know well and have always prefered, so they sit out the bad times in hope SE do something about it.

I just don't like the direction they are going, they basically dumbed the game down across the board and took away a lot of the uniqueness it had making it more boring and cookie cutter.

-Turned enmity into a toggle so tanks don't have to worry about it anymore, especially now that provoke has a taunt aspect to it and removed a lot of the Tank cooldowns
-Big steps towards making healers into healbots by removing tank and DPS cool downs, nerfing healer dps and increasing outgoing damage
-Nerfed Dps support to the ground and look to make us all Blackmages and Samurai's that only dps and nothing else.
-Made the jobs I have seen/played (haven't played them all) more simple and generic

If the Raids coming up are a massive step up in difficulty then ok I can see the need for the dumb down but if they are on the same level of the last tier it means they have removed another layer of difficulty to the game. I hope they don't continue down this path because I have seen what it has done to other MMO's, WoWs current state is one, this is not a time to turn toward being a WoW clone.

I main a scholar but have bard as my fallback. I was very sad at the loss of a lot of the buffs but they upgraded the personal dps to make up for it. The flow is very smooth and easy to handle it’s very fun to play. Will probably become my new main after I finish the MSQ.

For me the most troubling part about my favourite classes are which Skills got removed and which are in my opinion poor with less effort designed.

SAM : Shoha is a very cool looking skill but exactly this only one skill i like about sam in its animation design, is that one that is even less useful than seigan so you never get to use it and this makes you not being able to see and enjoy the skill.
Secondly his 76 Skill, allowing using an Iaijutsu twice : Its just the same recycled animation. not an visual change which is very sad considering other jobs with an powered up version of their skill get always a new cool looking flashy design.

So in total samurai got 1 cool looking skill (which you cant really use) and 1 skill that use the exact same visual animation of the older version which is very sad. at least change the color if you are too lazy to change the animation xD

DRK : First they removed Delirium (the HS level 50 combo finisher) & Scourge and now they removed Power Slash. All his flashy looking skills are removed and Soul Eater is not an bad skill but spaming it all the time gets very boring. the animation is not satisfying enough for an skill you have to watch with your eyes for years now. I miss old Dark Knight (with his animations. his current gameplay is much better. just talking about the animations)

But on the other hand i also like the new skills from DRK and i like that you get to see his 2 Blood Skills more now. (sorry dont know english names)

so gameplay wise i like the changes alot but graphically from the animation design aspect im very sad and dissapointed.

also fflogs is not a representitive sample, specific types of players seek out fflog
To expound on this, I am playing SMN and you might see some logs from me, but I am actively looking for a replacement to play right now because, despite being my first job, SMN has so many issues that I don't think I can tolerate it unless they do immediate changes to fix the flow of the class. But like a ton of other people, if this is your first job, then you're going to play it. It's that simple. Not many people have the time to level up multiple jobs fast enough and would rather suffer a bad job than not play at all.

That's kind of the issue with using that website to justify your positions, especially so early in an expansion's cycle.

I can't speak to the dps changes but healer changes are a nightmare.

Key: Dark Red: Very Satisfied, Light Red: Somewhat Satisfied, Yellow: Indifferent, light blue: Somewhat Dissatisfied, Dark Blue:Very Dissatisfied.

While it isn't perfect since r/FFXIV isn't necessarily representative of the entire player base, it is a decent visualization on how people are probably feeling about it. Pretty much every job is getting at least a 70% general satisfaction or at the very least, 80% aren't unhappy with them. The only jobs that are complete botches to the players are Monk, Scholar and Astro. Everyone else is relatively happy.
if they just took the slowdown off monk, decreased the damage of riddle of fire and add a speed buff instead, and just let the class go crazy with speed (like 1.5 gcd) we would be happier. we got cool skills this xpac but the slowdown and speed ups just makes monk feel like a clumsy untrained martial artist that is tripping over his own feet.

If MCH has taught me anything, it's that a 1.5s GCD is cancer to anyone with a ping over 60ms. So no, this is a terrible idea. That said, removing the slowdown from riddle of fire would make it feel a lot better probably. It's a relic from when the devs wanted the class to double weave billions of oGCDs. Well, the class doesn't have billions of oGCDs to need to double weave anymore.

I was gonna play Dancer, but i just don't like playing range dps jobs. I was a bit disappointed when i had found out that dancer was a ranged dps. If i am going to play a dps job this expansion then i am gonna play my Dragoon. Not because it has good numbers, but because out of all the melee jobs i have worked on, i played my dragoon the least and has just been collecting dust.

I'd wager this is more common a sentiment with SMN mains than people know. At least the ones I've spoken with, and myself are pretty bent and praying for something to happen to fix this hot mess like yesterday.

I really wanted to like the changes, and while leveling it felt okay. After 80, I started to work on optimization to prepare for raids. All the flaws (discussed ad nauseam lately) immediately came to light when I took the casual hat off and started to get down to business.

On the bright side, I find SMN isn't terrible if you never have to move, never have to take your eyes off the hot-bars for mechanics, have a low ping, and want to put in some serious hard work for dismal numbers. So as long as savage is a striking dummy, SMN will be just fine.
